#976 – Chipped

It is so scary when something hits the windshield of the car when I’m driving on the highway. It’s mostly the fear of what might be about to happen. That and the fact that I instinctively close my eyes whenever it happens. They stay closed for longer than they really should be. I guess I’m afraid of what I will see when I open them again.

There’s a suspension shop on my block, and the particular section of road directly in front of their shop is nothing but 1/2ft deep potholes for a 20ft stretch.

I’m sure they’re itching to get it fixed.

Had a van in front of us kick up a pry bar that had been dropped on the freeway once–hit the spot where windshield meets roof at 75+ mph, then dropped on windshield, bounced up on roof and was gone.

Car was only three weeks off showroom lot, brand new model year. They had to ship a new roof from the assembly line out to repair it.

We consider ourselves lucky that it hit where it did and none of the five people in car was hurt. We went skydiving for rest of the day, figured it was a safe end to the day.

I once broke the windshield of my car when I threw a lighter from the driver’s seat about a foot away from the glass.
I was angry that it wouldn’t lite my cig and I just chucked it, guess I supplied enough force at the right angle cause it wasn’t a very hard throw.
it got it’s payback on me
