#760 – Quark

A few summers ago we got a small electric ice cream maker. We had fun making some delicious batches of ice cream when we first got it. Then we discovered it could also be used to make yummy slush drinks. Just pour in your favorite soda and 15 minutes later you have a nice slushy drink that you can eat with a spoon. It turns out that the sugars in the drink are what keeps the slush soft instead of just freezing into solid ice. We found this out the hard way when a sugar-free grape soda almost broke the machine.

Also, if you are not following me on Twitter then you are missing out on my thoughts about soda, cookies and lawnmowers. Mmm cookies.

The true edge of that knife must be electron thin and invisible to the naked eye.

  3. MaskedMan says:

Mmmm… Split Atom Soup. I have a great recipe for it, but it’s still an official Navy secret. Too bad I can’t share – it works great!

OTOH, slushy drinks… Ooooh, good idea!

Kwik Trip used to have Mt. Dew slushies. I would risk running out of gas just to make it the extra few miles to a Kwik Trip. Last time I got there, they told me they’d stopped selling them. I almost cried.

I’m gonna take a shot in the dark and say “apocalyptic cuisine week”

  6. @Space Butler: That’s actually true of almost all kitchen knives but especially so for the razors people use to shave with. They already ARE electron-thin and invisible to the naked eye; thats why they dull so quickly, something that thin wears down right damn quick.

  7. SEA says:

Mmm, i must remind myself to get a slushie soon. :p

  8. colin says:

  10. Colin says:

And that’s where my black and decker countertop fission reactor comes in handy.
    Makes it right quick!
And dispose of the leftovers in Mr. Fusion!

    He’s holding tweezers.

  12. SoySauce says:

That soup would give new meaning to the term “explosive diarrhea”, I’d bet.

  13. Shorty says:

Homemade ice cream is always better than store-bought.

  14. Chairninja says:

That does look like one huge atom. Steam-punk goggles FTW!

  15. VickyL says:

Truth be told I think it has gotten to the point when I enjoy reading your comments MORE than the comic itself.
This particular comic was pretty entertaining though 😀

I was thinking, “Word replacement week.” And how do those goggles help him see something smaller than the wavelength of light?

  20. KNO3 says:

Meh, gamma radiation gives me gas. Pass on the split atom soup.

  21. The Dustin says:
