Chapter: Comics
It’s funny how the “freshly” prepared foods at a gas station are the most suspicious to me. “Hmm… this wasn’t prepared in this room… where did it actually come from? Is there a sandwich truck that stops off each day with a new batch? Seems shifty. Better just get this microwave pizza. This Totino’s guy looks pretty trusworthy.”

Yeah… I work in one of those gas stations, and we have sandwiches like that… I don’t trust them even a week after they’ve been there, and we will sometimes have some that have been there for a month.
There’s a reason I eat very little that originates from my place of work.
Well, you can be reasonably certain whatever assembly line the pizza was made on didn’t go to the bathroom recently, but that it would have washed its hands if it had, if it had hands. 🙂
There are sandwich trucks just like that in Sweden. Mom told me this, and she worked at a gas station for 10 years or so. The salad in the sandwiches was sometimes brown. Yecch!
Sandwich from a Men’s Room?
Word of advice: Don’t eat the Egg Salad. Just…don’t…
When I worked (years ago, before I learned about Right Livelihood) at Philthy Frog Aeroneurotics (Philco-Ford Aeronutronics) making Sidewinder seekers in the clean room on 2nd shift, we’d go over to the machine shop’s break area on the day the vendor cleared out the sandwich machines. They didn’t pitch them out, just piled them on the counter. We removed the lettuce, then piled them in the end of the big -100C freezer downstairs. Just before payday, that was a treasure. Take one out, try not to shatter it, microwave it back to only reasonably stale…
All of a sudden that Subway inside the nearby Shell seems very suspicious.
Remember that spinach yoghurt a while back?
