#1458 – Rung

I remember when I first started driving and had to refer to a map the hardest part was having to find my current location. I’ve quickly gotten accustomed to the flashing blue light or pin being dropped automatically. I’m now so used to looking at satellite photos of my town I sometimes catch myself thinking “Oh it looks like it’s a nice day out.”

Today’s Maximumble is running late.

  1. We had a GPS a while ago (then my dad kept it when he and mom got a divorce), and I would say that this GPS was both good and bad at the same time.
It helped to use it sometimes, but most of the time it would have to load the map again because something went wrong, or it would say “Gör en U-sväng!” (“Do a U-turn” in Swedish) over and over again, in a voice that sounded like a hoarse old lady. This was the only voice that could be chosen, and it was called Astrid…

    Göööör en Uuuuu-sväng… Göööööör en Uuuuu-sväng… X(

Sounds like one of those movies I could never understand. You take the U-turn, and next thing you know, you’re playing Tiddly-winks with Death and his little brother, That Annoying Itch In The Middle Of Your Back You Can’t Quite Reach.

      1. Yeah, almost all the times it told us to do a U-turn, there was no apparent reason to do so (usually because we were actually heading the right way!), or it wasn’t even possible!

I think the GPS might have been possessed by a ghost or something… Yes, Astrid wasn’t the voice function at all, because she was a ghost that wanted us dead!

        Ooh, I know this one.

  2. Nobody else than me and Kingklash has commented on this one! Was my story about the haunted GPS so scary that everyone (except for Kingklash) ran away?
