#1427 – Latitude

Why do you keep bringing this back? I want it over there! No stop it! I’m trying to clear the yard of sticks so I can mow the lawn! Mom! Tell dad to leave me alone so I can get my chores done!

Today’s Maximumble makes the sale.

Clearly this is a ‘fetch’ mission for Astro, the Space Dog! (low-cost knock off of the more welll-known animal of similar name – Accept this substitute!)

  2. My dog is weird. He loves to play fetch, but only while indoors. I think it may be because he doesn’t have the stamina to run across the lawn that many times… When outdoors, he will just sit next to the ball, and won’t fetch it… But at least it’s a good thing that he’s not that big, so we can play fetch indoors without any problems! 🙂

  3. I won a game of fetch with the neighbor’s dog by chucking the ball into distant garage, where the dog skidded into parked bicycles, which then fell and pinned the dog (for a moment) and the ball (forever, as far as the dog was concerned.)

It’s the only time I’ve won, however. Maybe this is because I’ve never used rockets.

As is often the case, the description is what makes this one stand out. An additional twist taking it in a completely different direction.

(I certainly didn’t expect it to be the father — it was always my sisters that did that…)

My current dog doesn’t play fetch all that well. I throw the ball, he brings it back to me. My old dog taught me how to play fetch properly. I throw the ball, and then I attempt to fetch it from her mouth.

And the use of a tennis ball seals the act. Someting about them is hypnotic to most dogs. The pooch will be going for a very long chase.
