#1274 – Orbit

I think my favorite solo game like this was the one I had back when I was a pitcher in little league. I had a sort of angled net/trampoline to practice throwing pitches at. If you have it set at the right angle and put it at the right distance and throw the ball in the right spot it will casually bounce the ball right back to where you are standing. It was quite fun when you get a good rhythm going.

Today’s Maximumble makes an effort.

I never had time to play a game alone, I had too many siblings. I tried to learn how to play solitaire once and was really good at it, but then I started playing on the computer where you couldn’t cheat.

    Biff made me laugh today.
But should there really be shadows in just the one –
    Ah, never mind.

Ah, I was starting to wonder how you were going to fit eight planets into a five day week, but now it seems you’ll go for two weeks and add the asteroids and Pluto.

Ah, the ol’ Pitch-Back. Never could get the thing to give a predictable return, but that was good for my reflexes…

On a rock that small, Biff is doing to wait a LOOOOOONG time for the frisbee. Excape velocity, unless its made of collapsed matter, is going to be in the centimeter-per-second range. Hope he’s the patient sort!

Or you could use a boomerang …

Hey Biff, watch out for Mario.

So, the theme of space exploration through the Solar System’s inner planets has come to a close.

    Very funny this week.

You might enjoy the sport of boomerang throwing — once you learn how to throw (and catch) boomerangs, of course.

I’ve heard people call boomerangs “solitaire frisbees.”

    (Great comic, by the way!)

    This one made me chuckle!
