Chapter: Comics
I used to save all of my computer parts whenever I upgraded something. They came in handy when something broke. I could always find an older part to swap out. Eventually I had enough pieces that I could piece together entire new machines and give them away. Now I only own laptops and tablet devices. I recently realized that one day I will be telling my son about how I used to take apart and rebuild computers the same way my dad would talk to me about cars.

So that’s why we lost comms with the mars rover….
I have 3 entire pc’s at home built with just spares. With watercooling too 😀
my dad builds computers but he is a computer programer once a client payed him for plugging the computer in
I don’t know about that. There are epople who do some fun things with laptop parts. Like fit them into NES shells. One guy even customized a keyboard and mouse with NES controller schemes to match. And rewired a old controller to use with a USB port.
NASA should’a gone with the LoJack option…
In regards to tablets, I’ve seen some tablet hacks that requred a deft hand with tweaker and micro-mini soldering station – Just ’cause it’s a fancy new fondle-slab, doesn’t mean it’s safe from the modders! Some people just have to start digging into the guts of a new device the very instant they become available – curious monkeys simply can’t be stopped.
This friday, Biff has a cameo apperance at unshelved! http://www.unshelved.com/2011-5-6
