Chapter: Comics
I went decades of living on this planet only seeing regular plain everyday park benches. Now almost every park has one bench with a bronze sculpture of a sleeping man or a lady feeding invisible pigeons. I wonder where this all started. Maybe it’s just a marketing ploy by a park bench manufacturer.

Loving the week theme.
I think it’s for tourists to take pictures with. Kind of like why you find famous people statues sitting on benches at theme parks. I think.
As for the comic:
Does that say “A + O forever” or “A + 0 forever”? “A+0 forever” doesn’t sound very pleasing. “A + nothing forever.”
Wait, it says “A+C”. Oops.
awww biff doesn’t have his super long eyebrows with this one 🙁
Yeah, even though he’s got Ben Grimm’s Rocky Eyebrows, it’s still not Biff unless his eyebrows are longer than he is.
BTW there’s a bench with a statue of Mark Twain at a park in Old Town Monrovia. MARK TWAIN! Hell yes. Totally took a picture with that.
I think the statue benches make the statues more “interactive”.
It’s great that even as BiffThing he has unnecessarily long eyebrows.
Oh, so this one is called The Thing? So with yesterday’s Adams Family Thing, that makes a Dr. Seuss theme. Thing One and Thing Two.
(also a return of the poo theme I see there on his shoulder)
A little nit-picky, sorry, i.half4, this one is “Ben”. It’s a “Fantastic 4” theme. Yesterday was the stretchy guy from that, not Thing from “The Addams Family”. Although, a “Dr. Seuss” theme would be groovy too..
Sooo…you’ve done all the Fantastic 4, I bet tomorrow shall be Dr. Doom-themed. Mwaahahahaha!
no, tomorrow has to be ‘h.e.r.b.i.e.’
The bronze statues on park benches? They’re observers from planet Bronzus, gathering intelligence before they invade.
Actually those statues on the park benches used to be real people (sometimes convinced to dress up as celebrities, etc.). They have been turned into statues by a super-villain that the media has been forbidden to talk about. Mostly because the statue-fying weapon was stolen from Area 51. I don’t know how turning people sitting on park benches into statues is going to help take over the world, but I never understood politics anyway.
since every strip centered around the fantastic four this week, i wonder if tomorrow’s doctor doom’s.
Either Dr. Doom, but I’m counting more on the Silver Surfer…
Is that ‘Amanda + Chris’ I espy on Biff’s head? Very nice.
J, I was going to say exactly that. Get out of my head.
@lexillicious: Well, is the orange one called The Thing or no?
And what about the poo? The Return of the Ghost of White or what?
“Father, I have to go to the euphemism.”
– Dr. Seuss, from the animated Halloween Is Grinch Night
Love the FF4 theme, as a side note, did anyone notice in comic 1119 (Pang) that the PB on Biff’s face looks a bit like a comet? I wonder if it was giving off some cosmic rays…
Hmmmmmm… Comets have longer tails. That looks more like the fireball from a meteoroid. OK, so I was only trying to find a way of associating it with an asteroid, so I could call it one of The Reeses – Phoenix asteroids.
Meanwhile… Friday… Hmmmmmmmmmm…
Gah, Ziggles! You saw the comic before me but I noticed that too. 🙂
Geez guys, I thought the explanation was obvious.
They’re Weeping Angels.
Whatever you do, don’t blink. DO NOT BLINK!
Don’t blink … Do not blink … don’t look away, not even for a second … and whatever you do, don’t
If you blink you’re dead! They are fast, they are faster than you can imagine- whatever you do, don’t turn your back, and DON’T BLINK! 😀
It’s pretty sweet of Chris to put that, Mophball.
Ya why a lady feeding pigeons or sleeping man, why not a thinking person, someone reading a newspaper, or someone waiting for a bus? Aha, you see when those people are waiting at the bench, it is in broad daylight and others are around. When the sleeping man or crazy pigeon lady is on the bench, it’s late at night and nobody else is around. Then the statuizer strikes! Dun dun dun!
cyber95, but i like it in here. there’s nachos!
