The opinions vary widely in my neighborhood on the subject of leaves falling in your yard. Some people spend many hours every weekend raking and vacuuming and blowing the leaves around. Some people let it build up and do a single cleanup once a season. I’m in the mulching lawnmower camp. I’m not bothered by the sight of leaves. I think they actually look nice and give more to the experience of the seasons changing.
Today’s Maximumble puts the smack down.
I remember doing this with my family, but I can’t remember why at this point. At any rate, we were in a huge field, we gathered up dead branches, and we burned them. It wasn’t Easter, though…

We send the kids out every couple days to keep the leaves more-or-less in control, and call it good enough.
My neighbors have an excellent system for them. They just wait until the leaves blow into my yard. Being at the bottom of the hill, that’s where they stay until I rake them up. I have given though about getting some Agent Orange and eliminating the problem at the source. But now you given me an even better idea. A napalm fence to keep out both the leaves and the neighbor’s kids.
Run your phone line through that, and you got a firewall.
And makes a great castle defense system for the zombie apocalypse.
Flaming zombies..? Not sure I’d want to face that.
It also discourages The Martian Manhunter from walking his dog to do its’ business in your yard.
