#785 – Barnes

Chapter: Comics
This comic makes me suddenly realize that I haven’t eaten sardines on saltines in a long time. I think it was something that my mom really liked so we always had them around the house. For some reason it never occurred to me to buy them for myself. I wonder if they still make them with the little metal key that you use to roll back the lid. I’m guessing they probably have the pop top like most soup cans do now.
Preorder your copy of Book #4 in the store! You can see a sneak peek of the cover in my twitter feed!

Okay, so, this probably doesn’t belong in the comments, but I am a long time follower on twitter. I have to say, if you have a spider that large in your house and around your desk, you need to capture it. It could prove to be a worthwhile ally.
As for the comic: I don’t eat meat and have never had sardines, so, there’s no story I can post here with a funny ending. I also don’t think it would be appropriate to guess the whole weeks theme today, but I’m going to do like most people and say something anyways. My bet: Dismembered Animal week. Don’t let me down.
people always make the assumption that sardines and anchovies are bad, but a good ceasar salad (w/ homemade croutons) becomes great with anchovies
ah, the undersized grill, i actually prefer to smoke a piece of meat for hours instead of coating it in sugary sauce and grilling the #π¥$∆@! out of it.
(by the way, my keyboard is multilingual, if you’re wondering where those symbols came from)
oh, and ’cause i never get to say this, ƒ¡r57 pø∫†!
Heheheh, comical genius.

@linuxxorcist:
Uh, what?
@Comic: I’d be scared if I saw a fish that big.
@poly
i dunno, it’s like 2:00 here, i have GOT to stop shotgunning cokes, i may never sleep again
by the way, Barnes is a reference to a southern barbeque restaurant in Lemon Grove, CA (smoked foodstuffs FTW)
OMM nom nom
Who (besides Biff, obviously) would try to grill a fish whole?
“they probably have the pop top like most soup cans do now.”
..thus ruining the perfect joke:
“Sardines are a stupid fish: they crowd up in a tiny place and leave the key outside.”
@linuxxorcist – I was thinking of a different Barnes, actually.
I can’t see that has this to do with breaking dams =(
Fish heads, fish heads,
Roly-poly fish heads,
Fish head, fish heads,
Eat them up, yum!
This moment of culture brought to you by thousands of delicious fishies.
@Quikngruvn – 5 points to you!

@linuxxorcist – I was thinking of a different Barnes, actually.”
Which Barnes, there are two of them?
Yanno, it might help if Biff cleaned and filleted that fish…
@Quikngruvn
And They Might Be Giants
I haven’t commented in a while cause I was moving and was on the road for 4 days.
Would that different Barnes be Barnes and Noble? >.>
I’ve never been a big fan of fish. I do want to try shrimp though, my dad grills them rather meanly. (WITHOUT a sugary sauce, hehe. XD)
@nilly
What would a bookstore have to do with fishing/barbeque?
@chris
alright then, let’s try again, Barnes & Barnes made the song “fish heads” in 1978
sardine are rediculously salty, any1 know why? they don’t seem cured, just floating in olive oil. speaking of cured things that nobody seems to like for some reason, what’s with all the spam-haters?
What’s Biff going to do with the fish tail?
@soysauce
maybe it’s one of the boneless, scaleless varieties at the ‘ol reactor coolin’ hole
the ugliest cod in the world (a difficult distinction indeed) seem to be in the sechelt inlet marine reserve, where a lack of commercial and recreational fishing has led to the ugly ones living to reproduce

“Roly poly fish heads are never seen drinking cappuccino in Italian restaurants with Oriental women!”
“Yeah”
Great song. Anyone else know that Barnes of Barnes and Barnes (heh) played Will Robinson on the original Lost in Space?
Kid actors week.
I have had caramelized anchovies before and they were delicious.
