#751 – Quilted

Sometimes when you are sharing a living space you need to hide some of life’s essentials. Ice cream for example. A few times a year my wife and I will each get our own pint of ice cream. The way the concept works in my head is she has her pint to eat however she wants and I have my pint to eat however I want. The way it works in reality is that when she finishes her pint she’s free to attack whatever is left of mine. This is why after a few days I need to hide mine on the bottom shelf in the back behind the 5 year old cornish game hens that are beyond frozen.

I wonder what kind of situation caused Biff to have to hide toilet paper.

  2. MadDavid says:

A worse possibility is that it’s not Biff’s secret stash.

And what happened to the Super Noodle Bran?

  3. SpriteMeister says:

Of course, now Amanda will know where you stash the ice cream.

  4. LazerWulf says:

TP in the Bran cereal… seems… poetic?

  5. LazerWulf says:

No… that’s not the word. Not ironic or redundant, either.

  6. Tvae says:

    “Who left that there?” week?

  7. Space Butler says:

alternatively, it could just be an unpleasant prize.

  8. soilent says:

    Comunal Housings Week?

  9. Zakarum says:

Are you sure the TP isn’t just a supplement?

  10. Tigergulp says:

I have my own minifridge and it’s boobie trapped.

  11. Ah, return of the Super Noodle Bran!

  12. johnnybob says:

Redundant IS the word because Super Noodle Bran and Toilet Paper are interchangable high fiber products.

  13. Sir Lancelot says:

As a matter of fact, depending upon the bran cereal, the toilet paper may be a welcome change in taste!

Or a useful thing for after eating said cereal.

    So…i’m guessing…obnoxious housemates week?

  14. Tofumage says:

I’m sure your wife is happy to know the hiding spot now. She *does* glance at the comic occaionally, right? Sadly, I’m exactly the same when it comes to sweets and other snacks — nothing is safe!

  15. Tofumage says:

    @LazerWulf: apropos, maybe?

  16. Bryce says:

But….if she reads your comic, now she’ll know….

  17. Micah says:

Unexpected things in Biff’s food week.

  18. Paul says:

I hide things that I buy and don’t want my wife to know about. So when she finally does discover them, I say “What? I have had that thing for weeks/months/years!” “You never pay attention to me!” It never works. 🙁

  19. greatslack says:

    Surprises in food week!

  20. C4Pottery says:

In my fridge, it’s easy to hide things. finding them again, on the other hand…
memories of an awful roommate week?

  21. Drakey says:

I’m gonna go with the idea that it’s yet another “unfortunate things happen to Biff” week.

Seriously, Chris, when is the guy gonna catch a break?

Also, I doubt he used the real location.

Of course, she will now start looking, and a freezer isn’t big enough to hide things like that in.

  22. Micah says:

@Drakey: That’s too vague. Unfortunate things always happen to Biff.

  23. clintendo says:

things that shouldn’t be in your food week!

  24. no name says:

    Breakfast Week… duhh.

  25. Zoran says:

I find that the back of the fridge is always a good place to store ‘secret candy stashes’. Nobody ever looks there……

  26. -2! says:

    So i was close…

Breakfast week (toast * food), although it could still be people other then Biff.

I was going to write that but there were endless variations of it.

    Seriously.

  27. The Dukenator says:

@Micah Unfortunate things happens to me a lot.

I found things in odd places like a CD behind a friend’s couch. CD turned out to be mine and the one I’ve been looking for

  28. Maybe Chris’s wife is like Brad Guigar’s(Evil, Inc.) wife and doesn’t read her husband’s comic, and instead being a fan of XKCD? That would allow him to keep the hiding place secret.

  29. Dojang says:

yo. just blasted through the whole archive when i should have been coding my assignment…

i saw ads for your comic yonks ago, but couldn’t bring myself to like biff’s weird face enough to click the links, and i thought that the jokes on the ad seemed largely infantile. i’m glad i finally tried it out.

incidentally, by the time i reached today, the offhand stories you share became a great deal more entertaining than the comics themselves. thanks again.

  30. -2! says:

    @ Garrett Williams

Maybe as chris has said before he shows her the actual comic as a test of it and hence she has no reason to come here.

  31. Nokore says:

Now part of this complete breakfast.

  32. YukiSnowflake says:

heh, i hide all of my stashes in certain places… i can say here, cos only one of my relatives reads (*the rest are boring gits*) and he doesn’t read the comments.
    I keep stuff:
@in the veggie drawer (*only used at christmas*)
@above my wardrobe as it is unsafe for anything other than me to go up there…
@in the drawer that has the iron in it. (*there are COBWEBS in there!*)
    @in my stomach… |:D
