#718 – Concealed

When I was a kid we had a fake rock in the garden that we kept a spare house key inside. I actually used it a lot. My mom thought it was great because it stopped us kids from climbing up to the second floor window and busting out the screen if nobody was there when we got home from school. Fake rocks are cheaper than perpetual screen replacement.

We actually had a stone turtle, but after a while someone misplaced the key, making it sort of a useless empty door turtle.

  2. Speakerblast says:

    What could that key open?

Oh! Hey! It’s “going through” week. The planes go through the raindrops, the meatloaf goes through the mailslot, the TV cord goes through the wall, and now…the key goes through the nut (or in the nut) and normally goes through locks. Rephrase it how you like, but I am right.

  5. Micah says:

I didn’t see the guess yesterday, by the way, of big things going through small openings. Evidently they were wrong considering the key is small.

  6. Michael says:

I think it’s just a strange things in strange places week. Who’d look for a tiny key inside an acorn? Or meatloaf in the mail?

    @ Micheal- Biff?

We had a fake rock. Someone stepped on it and broke it (I think it was only plastic).

Eventually we just started leaving it under the bin again.

I think it’s possible that tomorrow’s comic title will begin with the letter “E”. Just a thought. :~)

  10. @The Dustin: We have one of those stone turtles, but it’s more for decoration than anything.

Whenever we needed to, we would put a key under a statue of St. Francis

I daresay you’ve broken the code!

Crap, I just realized I missed a ton of Biff due to getting my hard drive wiped! I have a looooot of Biff to catch up on…

  14. Micah says:

@Marks1stwife: I agree and I think that ties in with the idea I failed to explain.

We had a fake rock once, but we hid it too well… oops.

Well, we never lock our house. My mum used to lock our apartment. One day me and my sister walked home from school, and who was on the ledge of the balcony, wagging his cute little tail, but our sweet poodle puppy. He barked at us, smiled, and paced around, unwilling to jump but happy to see us. My sister called my mum while I ran around madly under the balcony, trying to catch the puppy.

  20. YukiSnowflake says:

@Daniel – planes going through raindrops… how is that “rodents”?

i dont personally see the point of a fake rock, for a number of reasons:

    1. they look very fake and nothing like the other garden rocks we have.
    2. not everyone has rocks near their door, we NEVER use the front, we use thge side door, so the rock would be VERY conspicuous.
    3. If i had one, everyone on my street would know i had a spare key, bad if you live on the same road as a theif (*or biff, for that matter*)
