#665 – First

When winter is here I miss how refreshing a cold drink can be. I miss walking outside on a cool autumn day. I miss the extra hours of sunlight that inspire productive days. How about you?

I wonder if biff could use a heater in conjunction with the TV?

  2. Althea says:

oooh I hate to gloat but here, South of the Equator, the days are long and warm and full of sun and beaches and beers by the pool. I don’t like to brag, but my Christmas was lying in the sun, having a barbecue and having an acoustic singalong in the shade. I <3 Australia

  3. Kelemvour says:

Why would you miss the refreshment of a cold drink??

There is nothing wrong with having a cold drink in winter….

    Aussi wanker…
My Electric fireplace is a blistering 1000BTU, or so the brochure says, but it’s still way faster in the toaster or over the stove, we gots 23″ of snow here, the most in 45 years!! Vancouver roxxor ur soxxors Australia!

I hate the summer heat, I don’t know why people like to lie around in the sun at this time of year. Sunbathing is unhealthy at the best of times, but in summer? Yeesh

You Americans should be thankful, it’s WAAAY easier to conserve heat than to get rid of it.

Sadly, I live in central Arizona. There is no winter here. It got to 74 or so today.

There’s not much time till our 10-month summer starts up again.

  7. alecho says:

hahahaha, oh that’s funny. Man, it must be HDTV.

  8. Kbman says:

Well, Namaps, I live in frigid Souther California. At the lowest, we get to a chilly 65 degrees farenheight. Brrr.

  9. Rolf says:

I got my sister The book of biff #1 for christmas, everyone loved it.
    Thanks Chris :D.

Only rain/shine here in singapore 🙂

A cool drink is nice on (another) hot day. Having a stroll in the (sometimes) cool night air. Being in your warm bed during those (normally) cold rain/thunderstorm is bliss.

  11. Vicky says:

Actually I think I prefer winter. If it snows, even better, but that doesn’t happen so often.

  12. fishmeester says:

No snow here in Belgium, just sub-zero (Celsius) temperatures and a cloudless sky. And it’s been like that for over a week.
It gets kind of boring just sitting inside looking at the beautiful weather outside, but not being able to go outside because it’s so damn cold.

  13. teh n00b says:

perfectly packable snowball-fight weather on christmas day here in Seattle, WA.!

  14. Boo says:

An ice storm took our power out for six consecutive days. We survived by our wood stove alone. Stores were closed. Roads were closed. Work was still open, darn long commutes.
Not always such a simple matter as conserving heat. Such is life in balmy New England.

  15. Cheesus333 says:

True, Chris, if that is your real name, but in summer a warm fire and a mug of hot choclate aren’t nearly as effective as they are in winter. Also, one word for you:

  16. …this is probably the dumbest thing Biff has ever tried…

  17. Pieman says:

    I miss the snow.

  18. Mophtran says:

I work mostly nights – usually 4 PM is when I start. It’s kind of unsettling to get to work while it’s getting dark. Though I guess the same can be said about leaving work while it’s getting dark.

Pieman, if you miss the snow, come to New England. We get plenty of it. Except for this weird weather. 60 degrees F? AT THE END OF DECEMBER.

  19. DTanza says:

Heh here in Long Beach it`s just as cold as last winter.

My penpal in Japan says that he wishes he could have Winter right now.

  20. i.half4 says:

@ Kelemvour: Hear, here! There’s nothing like a good cold drink and a hot shower after shovelling 16 tons of snow.

That’s right, TONS! The more, the merrier. If only it weren’t for all the parking problems… (share and enjoy)

  21. Foxhound2 says:

    …….. LOL………

  22. Genesismonk says:

Texas. We panic over the 60 degrees (as cold as it gets)

  23. Wizard says:

Last Monday it was 4°F here. Saturday it was pushing 70° and I was out riding my motorcycle. At least we don’t get bored, I suppose…

  24. Chamberino says:

    England = Rain. Nuf’ said.

  25. Hez says:

    Finland = What sun?

Damn it’s always either raining, sleeting or snowing
I think I haven’t seen the sun in 2 week

  26. Opie says:

I enjoy eating ice cream in the winter and laughing at all the people who start to complain as soon as the first snowflake falls. It’s during the summer that I want to stay indoors because it’s too hot and muggy to do anything outside.

  27. Eleanor says:

England has upgraded our torture. Not only is it cold, but it’s got humidity. It sleeted before, now it’s cold wet wind instead of just hand-crippling cold. No snow for at least another month yet. I would prefer a couple of feet of snow, at lesat we’d get time off school.

  28. MaskedMan says:

Here in Delaware, we’re getting everything from shirt-sleeve weather to very-bitter-dang-cold. Some days it’s frost on the car, others it’s shorts and let’s have a picnic, followed immediately by heavy parkas and mukluks. Rain, snow, sun, fog – Take your pick, we’ve got ’em all, and in any combination!

Biff must regret giving up his old CRT TV – At least with those, he could roast his mashmallows over the cooling vents. Provided he was careful to not let any marshmallow drip down inside – That would be bad.

  29. i.half4 says:

I notived today’s caption is very third person.
Very matter of fact. I like it!

Thinking outside the Biff, but still within the frame of his unique perspective. Oh, the places we will go!

  30. Akaroshii says:

I guess virtual reality only goes so far.

  31. Jake says:

Extra hours of sunlight for sure.

  32. DTanza says:

    That was quite rude Linuxexorcist.

  33. Kbman says:

I just realised; Here in california, it may be eternal spring/summer, but we have to deal with an eternal blanket of smog.

Is the good weather worth the risk of cancer? From what I’ve read here… possibly.
(plz laugh lol it was joke no meant to 2 offend u)

  34. Chuck says:

I went to Lancaster over the weekend and played in an icy puddle. When I got back to LA, it felt quite warm.

  35. i.half4 says:

    By the way…
    (notes the locational trend)

JD here in Milwaukee. Ah, The Great Lakes.

  36. Rampage says:

I drink cold drinks in winter and eat hot soup in summer. It’s the same the other way around though, too.

  37. Spirugiru says:

Wow, people from all around the world talking about winter…
Here in Brazil, it’s hot and sunny, and we started 2009 partying in the beach ’till 7 a.m.

    but i do miss snow

  38. Reg says:

Yes! SOmeone else that misses warm weather and sunlight!
As for Biff, those TVs can get a bit warm after a while, so maybe he can have some warm marshmallows…

  39. Cari says:

When winter comes around, I regret moving to Denver from Miami Beach

  40. Andrew says:

Out here in the wild west of Wyoming it once snowed in June.
Albeit it didn’t stick or anything… but it snowed in June! We were out side in shorts and t-shirts!
