#647 – Current

Like a lot of cities, the old apartments in Boston have very strange layouts. This is because they were once grand houses or much larger apartments that have been chopped up into smaller ones. At the second one I lived in it was crazy trying to find things like switches and shut-off valves. The first time I blew a fuse I spent a half hour looking for the fuse box before calling the landlord. He told me to get the ladder out of the closet and go into the kitchen. The fuse box was hidden from sight up against the ceiling above the kitchen cabinets. I’m sure if I would have just searched for 5 more minutes this would have been the next place I looked.

“The styrofoam couch design looked good on paper.”

    Household problems eh? XD

Weird magazine? Not that i am surprised. =p

Something about biffs hips seem strange to me…I can’t tell why.

  4. Shorty says:

@ SEA: I think the article on the front cover is something to do with snake toasters.

  5. RG says:

Folks, this is why circuit breakers are safer and cheaper on your upholstery.

  6. Dave says:

Yup. That couch sure blew a fuse… One apartment I lived in for a few months was the main floor of an older house… the stairway to the second floor was finished out as another room – albeit one that had only two walls and a stepped floor.

Obviously, not one of the new Energy Star (TM) qualified lower power couches that are better for the environment. Don’t tell me that Biff is as bad as the rest of us and is holding on to the couch he picked up for free in college when someone else threw it out?!?

I’ve heard horror stories of the electrical faults that some of the older paisley models can have in them (the green ones seemed to be the worst if I remember right…).

  8. Plain, out there, you decide, this is still funny. Crap’s everywhere.

  9. Foxhound2 says:

Man and i thought our couches were torn up.

  10. Lesley says:

When my boyfriend’s family was remodeling their kitchen, they found out why the house was wired so oddly: they opened up the celing, and a bunch of old whiskey bottles fell out. >_<

Back in my high school electronics class there was this Brazilian exchange student, and every few days he’d utter the phrase: “Mista Leah, I bwew a foose” on one of our ohm meters.
My friends and I still laugh about it to this day cause it was so funny due to the fact that it happened so often. Not a week went by that he didn’t blow a fuse.

  12. Guido Sarducci says:

Before I read the caption, I thought, “Biff accidentally overpaid his gravity bill this month” or “Biff’s gravity surge protector is broken”

  13. Cakoluchiam says:

I want to get the Books of Biff, but I find the best part of the comics is reading your musings below each post. Are your musings included in the books? If not, are there any plans to include them in future publications?

  14. OTTER says:

i work at a water damage restoration company basically we go in suck out water put some giant fans and bigger dehumidifiers in and let the place dry up for a few days, on to the point half of our fans have a small surge strip built into the so you can chain fans… does biffs couch have one of these cause it seems that the lamp is plugged into the arm oh and we blow breakers with those things like nothing else

  15. Speakerblast says:

    Paralell circuit Biff, not series!

    some people…

  16. speearr says:

    Was it overloaded? Hehe.
    “Give the gift of Biff”…. that’s kinda heart-warming, don’t u think so?

@Cakoluchiam: No, the rantings of Chris aren’t in the book. The books would be too thick and your bookshelf would blow a fuse.

  17. Foxhound2 says:

    Wait is his couch electronic

  18. DTanza says:

    But couches arn`t electric….

    DOES NOT COMPUTE!

    *Explodes*

  19. Araxiel says:

    @DTanza
Well, this is Biff we’re talking about… the man who crossbred a toaster with a snake. Anything’s possible.

  20. Ian says:

Yeahoo, Biff you gotta watch out for those couchs held together by fuses.
@Araxial, don’t forget about his invisible green car!

  21. Gregg says:

What was Biff eating?? Popcorn cereal?

  22. Manfred says:

The weirdest stuff usually hides behind my bed. Since ther’s a gap big enough for a remote control to fall behind it, and the space uder is enough to fit me and a girl in there, I’ve found many lost things in there. Still trying to find my sanity, but nothing yet.

  23. Rasheed says:

Reminds me of my first inflatable couch in college. Second day I had it, two girls were sitting on it, then all of a sudden they were on the floor. It was beyond repair, but I was very touched a few days later when they had literally pooled their pennies and bought me an even awesomer couch (first one was PINK!) as a surprise.

  24. Radical Edward says:

I remember sitting down one day and then I heard this rippingpopping sound. Turned out that my dad broke the zipper for the cover of the couch and used safety pins, which got ripped out by the force of my butt sitting down.

  25. Graff says:

Wait, so, is that popcorn, or mashed potatoes?

  26. Capshot says:

    Probably my favorite one yet…

  27. YukiSnowflake says:

    :O
so im NOT the only person who reads “WEIRD”?
