Chapter: Comics
I sometimes have a problem when I’m writing comics where the joke will suddenly evaporate. It will remind me of some trivial thing that I look up on the Internet. I finish reading the Wikipedia article and suddenly have no idea what my original idea was in the first place. Internett!!!

And always write down the brilliant ideas you get while writing down your brilliant idea.
It has happened to me a few times that I’ve forgotten some idea (mostly about the stories that I write), but then I’ve actually remembered it again later… Say, several months or maybe even a year later, when the idea isn’t even useful anymore!!
I always try to have some kind of notepad handy, even going as far as having a notebook app on my DSi XL, just in case. You never know when you’ll get that billion-dollar idea, or at least figure out what to make with all that ground beef in the fridge, and need a shopping list.
Have you ever made a shopping list on your DSi? If you did, did you catch people staring weirdly at you?
The ones that have seen me know me. They know my fondness for gadgetry, so it’s no surprise. I think the fact it’s a XL model, they may not notice as much, because I could be holding a checkbook, or an old-school PDA, something like that. At least, until I start playing Dragon’s Lair on it.
What if your brilliant idea is to bring paper and pencils to the room so you can write brilliant ideas on them?
This rarely happens to me. I think the trick is to not have a lot of ideas. If ideas come quickly and effortlessly to you and your thoughts feel like they’re flying freely in the air, some of them are going to slip away from you. Train yourself to chain your mind to the ground and never have ideas, and you’ll find yourself holding every thought that passes by your head in an unbreakable grip until you can put it down.
