#1733 – Scraps

There are some bits of food that just constantly defy our dishwasher. I could easily clean them away in a few seconds by hand but I keep giving the dishwasher one more chance. “I know you can do it! look I can rub this peanut butter off with my pinky! Give it a good blast of your jets! Concentrate!”

  1. We must have a good dishwasher then, because this has never happened to us (or should I say the plates). There has never been any need to re-dish the plates… :3

It kinda looks like Biff is hiding behind the plate!

Either a failing dishwasher, or the best gravy in the world.

Turns out the US banned phosphates in dishwashing detergents a few years ago, and _most_ dishwashers have suffered as a result. The new dishwasher machine doesn’t do any better a job than the old one it replaced, it’s the darn detergent.
Thanks to Bob Pease (RIP and thanks, Bob!) of National Semiconductor, and his regular column in Electronic Design magazine, for the tip. The hardware store _can_ sell you a box of Trisodium Phosphate (normally used for cleaning kitchen walls for painting prep.) Put a teaspoon in with the Cascade (or your favorite detergent brew) and see if it helps!

This looks to me like just another day in my life.

I wonder how many cycles it takes Biff’s dishwasher to remove the enamel ornament completely.
