Chapter: Comics
When I was a kid I liked to make snow monsters. I would use icicles as fangs and then spray the whole thing with a misting of water to give it a coating of ice.

ahhaha. so clever! i really love this one chris. 🙂
oooh, maybe someone who lives in a snowy climate will make you a biff snowman and take a picture.
i can only make sandmen here in FL. 🙁
Snow??? Hmmm, I think i saw it once on TV… And maybe on my fridge…
Chris, you rock! Found your site yesterday, (don’t remember how) and i’ve already “read” all the comics, laughed my ass off, added to bookmarks and spread the word. Keep up the good work 😀
Funniest thing i could remember: from work, a stupid client was saying that there was no power going through his cable to his modem (I work at an ISP). As i knew there was, i asked him to check it like he does with his 9 volt batteries. When he got the approx 130v of the cable through his tongue and yelled his lungs out, his wife came to the phone to just hear me say “plug in the network cable, please”
Aargh, I live in Toronto (in the dreaded wastes of Canada) but we’re having crappy warm weather at the moment. I think it snowed here today for what was the second time of the season, and there’s barely anything on the ground. Lame.
Thanks for spreading the word Rhiakath.
LordRetard, yeah, no snow here either. Colorado seems to be getting a lot of it though.
I too just found this website last night from an advertisement on the Gone With the Blastwave comic. After reading them all, I’d have to say I haven’t laughed this hard in a long time. Keep up the good work! 🙂
Thanks FunkyMonkey. I like supporting other comics. I get some great visitors from them.
1, Don’t ask about the name, 2, [insert praise here] 3, you are possibly the nicest, and gracious comic artist out there. unlike squidi, who can be a complete bastard at times, or even Dave from bob and george, who I think has a bit of a god complex. Apart from being insane, you’re a pretty awesome guy.
Thanks Leo, the insanity definitely helps with a job like this.
lol i like this one! it reminds me of wen i used to live in NY and it used to snow almost every year…
now i live in florida(it sucks b/c i hate the heat…it makes u hot)
i couldn’t do anything abt it n e ways b/c im only a kid so( actually 12)
Well I’m up by Chicago and it’s not very cold here either. Not that I mind really… the heating bills the past few years have been horrific.
I remember my first life lesson,Never ride power wheels in a wal-mart while their doing construction.
I just spend the last 30 or so minutes reading the entire Biff archives.
You sir, Mr. Hallbeck, have a new regular reader.
In addition to the art, I really like the humor; this is one of the few web comics that I actually laughed out loud while reading!
Good job as always.
By the way, is Biff’s design inspired by maniquinns? Because his head kind of reminds me of one.
Welcome Background Bailey. Thanks for all the comments you left. Biff wasn’t based on anything really when I first started drawing him. He’s was just a bald guy. If anything, some of the details have been based on myself, such as the green converse shoes that I wore in college. But mostly he has just evolved to his present form.
Oh, jeeze..
This is funny as hell!
I just finished reading evry last page, and it’s great!
Thanks Wind Up Monkey, I’m glad you liked them.
This one gave me a giggle fit. ^.^
I live in Cincinnati, and I think the coldest it has gotten this year was the mid twenties. Compared to two years ago, when we got a three foot snowfall, this year is way too warm. most days, I don’t even need a jacket. I wear short sleeves and shorts.
Leo the mouse – Squidi? holy crap thats weird, i haven’t heard anyone talk about that guy in ages, too bad his website died. it was awesome. I have the Archives on my computer. Including all the specials.
ANYWAYS awesome comic, i would TOTALLY make you a Biff snowman and send a pic. but currently its 70 pplus degrees in massachusetts. in january, thats unheard of, 50 is t-shirt weather for me normaly, im DIEING up here.
Ah, there’s a link from Gone with the Blastwave!! That’s where I found it! Sweet! Anyways, still lovin’ it.. and I’ve read them all from 1 to whatever the hell I’m on….. I don’t know how that one guy read them all in 30 minutes.. he must not have read all the comments like I have.. no offense to you, Chris, but some of the comments are just as good as Biff himself.. never better yet, but just as good a couple times :).
Yeah the comments are a fun part of the website.
Life is never free.
Yes-sir, I feel SO fortunate to live in Manitoba, with our -45 (C) weather…
snowmen are hard to make 🙁
Durnit, if I wasn’t such a lazy a-hole, I would totally make a Biff snowman right now. Sadly, I have no cam and no desire to go hunting for the perfect branches… Damned sad, the snow would have been perfect for it today…
Next December, I’ll make you a Biff snowman. I’m from Colorado, and I think we got a total of 15 feet of snow this year. And y’know, this december, I’ll bet we won’t get any.
I often had a problem with quarterback wannabes dashing through my snowmen. That is, until I started using mailboxes for structural support.
Snow monsters! That sooooo reminds me of Calvin and Hobbes, when Calvin would make his snowmen.
haha I live in waterloo (Ontario, Canada by the way) and we get a nice amount of snow… Not too much, not too little… Anyways snow is really kind of overratted. But it makes you appreciate the heat more however.
Next winter, if we get more snow than we did this year (yay CT coastline), I am making a Biff snowman and coating it with ice. For no apparent reason. But I’ll e-mail it to you!
Dark Jaguar had a good idea there. A way to make it better is to give it an ice shell.
Living here in Ohio, we get plenty of snow come the winter months. If I think of it, I’ll make a Biff snowman and take a photo for you guyes.
It looks like Biff had some sort of skiing accident.
It’s a snow Biff! I wonder what his snow angels look like…
His snow angels would be buried under a rogue avalanche, with him still in it.
A snow Biff would rock. I’ll definitely make a reminder on my calendar to make one. The great thing about it is that even if someone knows NOTHING about Biff, they’d still get a hefty laugh from it!
I imagine your childhood being something like a Calvin + Hobbes strip
Ee! SnowBiff!
we just got snow here.
a Sh*Tload.
then it turned to sleet, then freezing rain.
my dad went out and nearly killed himself on our concrete 2-step front porch.
fell on his ass and laughed it off
See, now I’m wishing it would snow enough to make a snowman. I want to do that!
Now I have to make one of those.
*buys three gallons of vanilla ice cream and vanila beans*
What?
There’s no way WE’LL have snow.
And the beans can be the brows.
I’m not about to waste good sugar as something uneaten for no money.
That made my day.
*builds a red earth snowman of Biff*
Ok, chances of making a snowman in Alice Springs, Australia? = Unlikely.
yay a biffman
@LordRetard: Heh, Toronto. You wimps called in the freaking ARMY to shovel your snow! *is from southern Ontario as well, but NOT Toronto*
I think I’ll try a Biff next winter.
I remember the Great Snow of ’99. Seven or eight centimeters deep. Closed down the city, it did. We made a good-sized snow monster, but no teeth; the long icicles weren’t even a centimeter. I suppose you can’t expect much from icicles if snow won’t stick around longer than a day.
I like to think that making snowmen are Biff’s desperate attempt at reproduction. All the abuse his balls have suffered, he cannae have any more children- his sperm have gone on strike and so, much like Rosebud of Bloom County fame, he seeks other methods of creating offspring.
I’ve read a bunch of comics and by far there’s only two comics that can compare to biff that’s cyanide and happiness (explosm.net) and smbc (smbc-comics.com) it’s weird how all three usually make science jokes
Correction SOMETIMES
I made a snow crocodile once… then colored it and the patch of snow around it with food coloring. Keeping the tail and the top part of the gaping maw from falling off were the hardest parts.
im building a biffman/snowbiff when winter comes
