#1469 – Breach

Back when such things were more difficult to come by I was very excited to find a 4×4 Rubick’s Cube on ebay and won the auction. When the box arrived I instantly knew something was wrong. It sounded like I was sent a box full of loose lego bricks. The box was poorly packed and in transit a single piece had broken which let the entire cube fall apart. Fortunately it was insured and a single form at the post office got my money back.

There are youtube videos that show you how to put a 4x4x4 cube back together, but if the one piece that broke out is actually broken, it won’t stay together… did you check each piece?

Yes I checked them. It was actually a fun puzzle to reassemble. I really understood how all the internals worked after that.

Oh, good. I’ve got the 3×3, 4×4, and 5×5… of the three of them, I’d say the 4×4’s the hardest. ATM, they’re just tedious.

  2. I won a two South Park shot glasses on Tradera (the Swedish version of Ebay) once, and when we got them, the “package” (a horrible mess of plastic bags, some thin carton and tape) made these rattling sounds of broken glass… Uh-oh… The person who sold the glasses should have packed them *much* better than that, because they weren’t protected by anything!

The glass with Stan on it was broken in tiny little pieces (mom managed to glue most of it together though), but the glass with Cartman on it was intact for some reason… Magic, perhaps?

I wish I hung on to my manipulative puzzles from the 80s. I had the Cube, of course, and Pyramynx, Missing Link, a few of the sliding tile ones with different Q*bert pictures, and whatever cheap knock-off me and my brother could get. I did get a later reissue of Rubik’s Cube, one with special symbols in the center of four of the faces. To “completely” solve that one you need to align the symbols a certain way.

It’s funny when I think I can argue Science with the Biff universe. I’ll get halfway through my proposed point, and then remember that this is The Book of Biff and my argument is invalid.

Now I want a box full of Lego bricks. The sound those made before you opened them was magical…

I used to have a Square One (a type of rubick’s cube that can change shape). I solved it once, then I never dared touch it again. It’s hellishly difficult.

Why would biff even order an immovable object? I’m really starting to doubt biff’s intelligence… lol
