#1465 – Thru

I was visiting family once and I tagged along on a snack run. We went to a drive through store to get some chips and soda. An actual store that you drove your car through. We pulled in, stopped and pointed at the stuff we wanted. The clerk bagged it, put it in the back seat and rung us up. We then drove off and I popped open my orange soda having never taken my seatbelt off. Never seen a place like that again.

There’s a chain of drive-through convenience stores in the Philadelphia area called Swiss Farms. Not having a car, there were a couple of times when I walked up to one to get milk, which felt pretty weird.

I’m a new reader. Last week I started reading The Book of Biff from start to finish. This comic is a lot of fun, and I love it for its unique brand of bizarre humor and weirdo main character. There have been a lot of hilarious moments, but I think my favorite was probably trying to get an apple to peel itself through peer pressure. I’m a reader and fan for life now!

Me? I’m just impressed at the durablility of the window’s framing. Clearly, they’ve dealt with Biff before.

I had that same sense of wonder in a drive-thru liquor store. I didn’t pop a top till we got home, though 🙂

  6. Oooow ow ow ow… Yes, Biff must be immortal, I’m sure of that now. …And he probably has to buy new cars quite often. He had a yellow one quite recently (or was that one a rental car perhaps?) that must have gotten totalled when it landed…

Been to a couple of convienience stores like that around here. It was a trippy thing the first time. Not as awkward as trying to manhandle your stuff through a standard drive-up window.

  8. Biff is now driving an Octorok Car!

    1. I thought it looked like an elephant’s face before I saw that it was a car!

His car, looks like some really un-happy beast right now, I think Biff might be walking to work a while right now, But, He’ll be walking in a lighting storm! muwhahaha!

Yes, but not a creepy as the drive through funeral parlor. And I’d like to never gotten the stains out after visiting the drive through dentist.

We have those liquor stores in California.

I wonder if any of those squiggly lines are not crumpled metal but, in fact, eyebrows.

We have some of those in western Texas. They’re more novelty than convenient but I enjoyed the last time we used one.

I remember there being a literal drive-through store in my home town. We didn’t go there too often though; it was just a convenience store and it wasn’t in our area. By the time I was able to drive myself, the place was gone.
