#1431 – Claw

My neighbor has a cat that likes to creep around my yard. I usually don’t even notice until my dog suddenly tries to rip my arm out of its socket as she chases after it. Also on cool summer nights I’ll have the windows open in the house and wonder what sort of axe murder is creeping around the bushes. But I tell myself it’s just that cat. I mean it’s too dark to see for sure but… yeah it’s the cat.

Today’s Maximumble stinks.

Are Biff’s arms getting longer and skinnier, or is my brain just short-circuiting again?

I don’t have a model sheet that I draw from. Consequently Biff evolves slightly every time I draw him. His head is constantly inflating and deflating. I’m cool with it because he’s the only humanoid you ever see so there’s never any confusion as to who you are looking at.

For a short time he even had a tall skinny head:

    1. I draw a lot, and I don’t use any model sheets either, but at least it’s got to be easier when there’s only one character to draw! 🙂 When I draw pictures of the characters and animals in my short stories, their sizes and proportions change a whole lot. A “gravewolf” (something I made up myself) isn’t that scary when it becomes too small or gets a too big head… 😀

BTW: Axe murder? Cat? Is there a difference?

I guess I’m on the opposite side of the neighbor’s-cat-in-my-yard story as it’s usually our cats who go exploring in the neighbors’ yards. So far there haven’t been any strange incidents, except for that one time where our cat came running from a neighbor’s property that it’s too scared to go back to ever again…

  5. Back when I lived in a house (well, not that long ago really), my dog liked to chase away any animal that would dare showing up on our lawn, but it was mostly birds I think.

My cats have always lived indoors, and it probably wouldn’t be a good idea to let them be outdoors now since four of the five cats I have are kinda old (10 – 14 years – the youngster cat is 4 years) and I live in an apartment on the third floor…

    …I’m a very talkative person, I know…

My family’s first cat would walk around the neighborhood and assert his dominance over the local dogs. There was one in particular that would run in terror whenever it saw him.

Also handy for those quick, Batman-style getaways.

I recently had to put my cat down, but I remember her antics. She’d fart in my general direction as a kitten when she wanted to be let down, she’d poop everywhere and she’d talk up a storm. Man, I miss her. She was a little snot, but that was her personality. She also understood English, which her sister, an older cat we have, does not.

In fact, this morning, the older sister of the two, begged me to get up and feed her. I live with my parents, so it was mom’s responsibility to feed the cats on their new diet (we had been overfeeding them, so the vet told us to ration the food and my mom told me to keep the cheese crackers away from the cat). I kept yelling “NO” to the other cat.
