I did not do much cooking with fire when I was a kid. I don’t think many kids my age had. But the first time I went camping in Boy Scouts I was suddenly in charge of roasting my own hot dogs over the campfire. Amazingly I managed to have it be completely black on the outside and mildly warm in the center.

Heh! On the survival camping weekend, I did OK in scrounging my own food – but it was strictly vegitarian. One kid, though, was a bloody genius, and managed to crank out a very credible fish stew – Over a fire he literally started with a busted beer bottle.
I got my revenge later in the spring, when I taught him how to do Tarzan Steak. 😛
Yeah – I cooked with fire a LOT when I was a kid. 😀

Cooking with fire? I can hardly even cook at home with an ordinary oven! The funny thing is that I have never been interested in cooking, but I *have* learned to use the oven to bake the stuff I’ve made of Fimo clay…
Nothing like shooting your weenie into space.

And this is the story of what killed the dinosaurs.
