Oh man… that would be the worst thing ever. Walk walk walk squelch. OHGODWHY.
OK, so forest elves are like dogs then? All I have to say about my dog is that… we use a lot of paper to clean up things from the floor. And this dog is almost six years old!
Three dogs. Two of them VERY large.
We have no forest elves – they’d be eaten. OTOH, if one of the dogs makes a mess in the house, it does NOT get stepped-in because it’s *very* obvious where it is.

But you might trip over one…
A very real hazard.
I remember wearing socks and stepped in cat pee. (Our cat had bad aim when the small privacy hood was on.)
Whether or not you step in it, it smells like a pine tree.
I’ve stepped in dog poop barefoot before.
I wasn’t aware forest elves had unusual excrement customs.
Then you don’t have real forest elves.
You’ve probably got golf course elves, or maybe the more rare arboretum elves.
