#1380 – Tart

Where did the concept of a punch bowl come from? Okay, time to pull the 5 gallon bowl out of the attic that we only use once a year. Fill it with random juices and soda and ice. People can then serve themselves with this soup ladle. Were pitchers not invented until the late 70’s? Whatever the deal was now it seems all the parties I go to serve bottled water, bottled beer and cans of soda. No more having to pick some lady’s hair out of your “punch”.

Today’s Maximumble shows off.

I can’t stop myself from thinking that Biff is actually somehow sucking the juice out of the glass and up his nose. I know it’s not what’s happening, but… Would anyone really be all that surprised?

This is as awful as it is brilliant…bravo.

    Ewww. Just ‘Ewww.’
    On so MANY levels…

And I’m not easy to get to. Well played, you sadistic genius!

IRT the punch bowl: There are a LOT of odd-ball service items from ‘back in the day’ that make little or no sense now. My mother has most of them. Including the Asparagus Tongs. Yes – That’s right. Tongs desigened specifically for serving asparagus, and useless for any other functin.

    I second that Ewww.
Punchbowls are a relic of the ‘Gracious Living’ days. Back when people had time to do extra stuff and showed it off. Soon I expect other items of gracious living may soon go in our mad rush to eat between minimum wage jobs. “Hey Dad, what’s this thing?” “That my son is what we used to call a fork…”

Yeah, too bad we can’t slow down and enjoy life. And I get real tired of the ads on TV that show people eating with no manners.

    I don’t think eww… I think OW.

See, at the parties I go to, it’s more of a punch cooler. 🙂
