#1304 – Canopus

Last day for free sketches!

When I was a kid there came a point where I was old enough that we were allowed to be alone in the house… without adults. Occasionally this would happen at a friend’s house. We would get hungry and have to figure out something for lunch. What a strange exotic thing another family’s food supplies turn out to be. Some of it would be familiar but slightly off. There’s a loaf of bread but it’s a different brand. There’s bologna but it’s cut thicker and has a different texture. Then there’s a jar of… fish? Does that go on the sandwich? Here’s some leftover casserole from 2 nights ago. Is that broccoli in there?

Today’s Maximumble looks great.

  4. Marr965 says:

This is, of course, why you keep all the canopic jars on one particular shelf.

  5. Tvae says:

I think the safest bet would be to just make a good old peanut butter and preserves sandwich.

(Unless the mummy is out of peanut butter…)

  6. Baughbe says:

Strawberry? Yeash that’s freaky. I’ll just have the lungs, thanks.

  7. infrapinklizzard says:

You eat the canopus, then you get the munchies…

  8. Jackson says:

Eat? Heck, it’s risky to do anything at a Mummy’s apartment.

You could have an entire weekly theme: Biff does things at a mummy’s apartment.

  9. narwhals says:

  10. pbarnrob says:

(If not the Netherlands psychotrance music), sounds like a medication!?

  11. reynard61 says:

@ Gadora: Speaking as one who has eaten it; no, it’s not.

  12. SA says:

This could turn into a rather awkward meal.

  13. Only Tangentially Related Comment®: If, given the choice to play as a mummy in a videogame, I will choose the mummy. Ankaris? Kinda lame, but he’s a mummy. Ermac? Not a mummy, but he kinda looks like one.

There really should be more mummies in games. They’re not getting enough representation.

As monster week drew to a close and I saw the new comic with the cactus story, this reminds me that I found out that new Monster High dolls are being released. (Yes, monster dolls. They’re wildly successful and quite interesting to own.) It started with my mother buying ragdolls resembling monster children. She bought the Frankenstein’s monster’s daughter one because it reminded my mother of how I used to dress in high school.

Regardless, I’ve heard of every monster in every culture except for were-giraffe. That’s original and no, I’m not being sarcastic. I don’t even pick up on cues that are sarcasm related.
