#1033 – Smack

They just installed some speed bumps in the parking lot at work. There’s a long stretch of pavement that goes right by the main entrance that people like to speed through. Unfortunately the 2 speed bumps are only half the width of the double wide path and they are separated by a crosswalk. Now the speeders use it as a slalom course. Instead of slowing them down they just made it more fun.

Speed bump fail. XD When I was young, my father’s work participated in the “Take Your Daughter To Work Day”, which meant parents got to slack off at work, the management bought lunch, and daughters, of course, got the day off school. Great stuff. My favorite part of this was coming and going, because the speed humps outside the place were the worst possible fail ever. The faster you went, the smoother the ride. The slower you went, the more you got jostled around. My father’s one of those extra careful drivers, so he kept going slower and slower over the bumps. It was awesome.

There’s weird speed bump things like that near my girlfriends house. I can’t really understand why they made them the way they did… there’s like two holes in the middle of it so COPS can speed through it.. and probably service trucks or something.. but you see people doing it all the time instead, so instead of slowing down they just weave to the middle of the street AT you. ><

We have speed bumps in my neighborhood. This is to prevent people from hitting the slow children. (and in my neighborhood most of them are slow) The speed bumps only slow down people who care, which ain’t a lot. In fact very few.

The speed bumps in my neighborhood are almost pointless – The streets are so narrow that you don’t dare speed, anyway. Not unless you really *like* threading the needle at risk of life and vehicle, anyway.

Heh, makes me miss my old DR650. I could ride over speed bumps at 50 mph and barely feel them.

That DOES sound like fun. (Seriously, I find parking lots riskier than the streets.)

My neighborhood decided that potholes are more effective as speedbumps than speedbumps are.

I bet Biff was doing a ‘heely’ on his speed bump. I know that these stories can be fun to tell people about, but were missing the point of these comics, watch biff FAIL.

This is part of why I love your comics so much. You don’t spoonfeed us the jokes. People have to make the conenction between why biff is lying on the floor with a bunch of things scattered, and what’s that got to do with speed bumps and being late for meetings. It doesn’t take mroe than a seocnd to udnerstand it but ti does require SOME connecting-the-dots and that’s a good sign of a quality comic. You rule man, keep it up.

most effective speedbump as far as roller skaters, heely’s, and skateboarders and bikers is concerned, is a nice well placed stick……
