#1025 – Friction

It’s funny, now that I do a lot of travelling to shows for the comic I behave differently on my first couple of days back at work. I smile a lot at people, talk loudly and crack more jokes than usual. Fortunately the normal 9-5 routines kick in about halfway through Tuesday and turn me back into my normal zombie-like self. Must… stare… at… computer… … pretty… colors… …

Grr, there’s something sinister about the string he’s used to construct that. Is it… an eyebrow? I think so. [nods sagely]

Hopefully the part about defecating in a hole in the ground stayed in the woods.

    The Duck Has Spoken.

I love the lines of coffee on his T-Shirt! It’s almost like it’s animated.

Well I’ll have to try that method next time I go camping. And where I work, it takes about 10 minutes to remove all joy from any recent pleasantness.

  5. Chris says:

    @baughbe – Hahaha… ha hah 🙁

  6. MaskedMan says:

Hmmm. I should try that method. Then, at least I’d have a *reason* for the coffee stains on my shirt. Or at least a reason other than “Clumsy Drinker.”
    😛

@chris-I honestly could not smile and be happy around people i do not know or like. If my comic ever gets publishized to that extent, i am hiring a public consultant to do all that for me. Ill be the guy in the trench coat in July.

Hey Chris, least you GOT work. Mind you work thats ucks the soul out of its workers aftyer awhile, but a job nonetheless!

Heh. I’m also different if I’m “just visiting” at work. Reminds me of a “going away” pot-luck we had at work a few weeks ago. Two people commented on how cheerful I was that day compared to when people usually see me … I just said, “yeah … but I’m not having to answer phones and talk on the radio …”

I did the same thing when I worked at our local Rennaisance festival. It’s customary there, to insult the customers, and be a bit rude at times. Not good behavior however, in a retail shop at the Mall of America.

    Incorrectly-made-meals week.

“…pretty… …colors…” Yeah, you just keep telling yourself that, Chris. It might just get you through.

    So… Readjustment week?

  14. i.half4 says:

Hey! It’s 12:07. Biff’s never been late before. Another readjustment?

My husband, his mother, her 100 lb service dog Max and I lived in a rather large tent (17’x19′, 6′ tall) in the woods on a mountain for a good six months… And we had two computers, both with internet.
I never thought I’d want to trade in a solid roof over my head for some canvas and tarp… but nothing is as peaceful as stumbling out of the tent at dawn to pee on a tree, then fall back on the air mattress to read Biff..
All in the middle of NOWHERE.
    Camping ROCKS. ^_^

  16. Mewthicus says:

… I don’t pee on trees, btw. But my sweetie does.

… Boys are lucky like that
