Chapter: Comics
Having a common method of organization is extremely helpful when more than one person needs to access the data or files or objects that are being organized. It’s frustrating that this isn’t enforced more often in small groups. I guess it just seems natural to most people to have to click through hundreds of folders on your co-worker’s computer to find a document when they are out sick. It only becomes a disaster when that person leaves the company.

Lol finding lost files….I know the fear all to well.
Good luck brave Biff. Good luck.
Adventure Biiiiiff, Adventure Biiiiiiiiff…..
must be paper relating to school week, what would you term it?
heh…
Personally, as the teacher, I would think of that and go “each day, the quizzes will be different save for one. On one wednesday in the year, the quizzes for both periods will be the same. On other days, there will be radical differences. Feel free to roll the dice, but anyone from first period caught giving the quizzes out on the wrong day fails the class.”
I would also allow students from the first class to take out the quiz with them only by special request.
I know there was a teacher in my high school who would give a student an A on a test if they got every single answer wrong. I thought that was creative.
Indiana Biff and the Temple of Cheesecake!
Hmm…I think I’m grasping at straws here, but I think these could also be Steven Spielberg works:
Monday–Twister
Tuesday–Catch Me If You Can
Today’s–Isn’t it obvious?
I could be way off. Though, I still have a feeling it’s Midterms. People do papers for Midterm week, too.
All of my stuff is pretty meaningfully organised so I can find it all for backups. No videos and songs floating around in ghettos together. Documents in the Documents folder, sub-divided into related folders. Music divided up by artist and then album.
Good luck biff Why didn’t you buy a portable laptop with wifi? (you an afford an elevator with stairs in it)
Biff needs a new pet… Like maybe a 15 foot long python that he got on e-bay?
Gotta love contextual ads: http://biggo.dyndns.org/Roba/biff090325.jpg
😀
Directory tree structure standards (and adherence to same) are a big hairy deal where I work… Of course, I work at a large Pharma, so it’s kinda important that we stay organized. 😉
@Micah;
No reason it can’t be both – Chris is more than sufficiently devious to do that.
@biggo – Haha!
I tend to keep my computer organized enough, and don’t have to deal with files at work (the only computers I deal with are the workspace where I organize/edit/submit customer orders and the one that’s attached to the printer in my photo lab). I do get plenty of problems because said computers work on windows MT, though.
@Chris – Where is the whip! Oh where is it??
Mmmmh…maybe the eyelashes can do the trick?
In any case, while your idea of organisation would make life smoother for everyone, it would require an uncommon level of civility.
Workplace enmity, jealousy and greed are pretty commonplace. People often make it harder for others on purpose, hoard their workload or others’ to stay ahead, etc…
Also, when someone is actually working against the rest (in big companies and governments, this is nighomnipresent), this escalates seriously… They’re always expecting to get kicked out for it, and when they know it’s coming, they can almost literally landmine the computers they have access to.
If this person has discretionary access and knowledge on IT, it gets even worse.
And even without all that, people often take little revenges on their workplaces, especially when they have nothing else to lose.
The kind of “organisation trouble” Biff is facing is a lot more fun though. Biffland is a magical place where even boring everyday issues become interesting.
Try the Indy Decimal System.
I read this and automatically went ‘dun-dun dun dun…. dun dun dun!’
Also, I’m wearing a hat like Biff’s to-day!
Music by artist, then album. Movies by genre, then by series (if applicable). TV shows by show, then season. Photos by date taken. School stuff by subject, then assignment (if applicable).
I have my files and folders sorted.
Love the hat, Chris.
@Masked Man: Yeah, you’re right. It probably is both.
I used to keep things more organized, but then full-text file search became feasible to use as a replacement.
I do keep all my comic files pretty well arranged, though.
My NOTHING in this computer is organized. I probably have dupes of everything! Then again, it’s probably the 30gb worth of The A-Team I’ve downloaded.
I tend to be a disaster in hard organization
soft organization though (as in the computer) I CANT STAND it being unorganized, messy desktops drive me crazy (having items not aligned to grid, over 10 items, hell even if there arranged badly, not empty recycle bin), there is one person at my work who’s desktop is totally full and i think he is crazy.
Although if anyone else was to use my computer they would probably be lost. Files are either in the logical location (my documents) or if there game related there in the super-folder which is in a random location that is completely logical to me!
Organization? Pfft. I got that covered.

Of course… it’s a fresh install of windows, and I havn’t had a chance TO clutter anything, but my externals are messy as hell and in need of organization. <.<
@hat
I want one
Hey chris you need to make a biff toolbar the will tell you when the new comic is out 😀
@EliteRock
New comic: Tomorrow. (except on weekends and some odd days/holidays)
It’s Learning Week!
Biff looks good in a hat xD
He could be a reporter.
