Is First Contact the one where the Borg offer him the ability to "feel" the way humans do? I half-remember it being on in the background on a Sunday.

Didn't watch any of the movies, but love the series (Next Generation anyway).

Yes. He is tempted by their offer, too, for a time. 0.68 seconds, specifically.

Data does not hyperbolize like that.
However, for an android, that is a very long time.

I never really liked the implications of that line. If 0.68 seconds is a very long time, conversing with us must be torturous for him. Also, it means that his brother is coherent just so that humans can understand him. What secret messages might they be hiding between the syllables?

Except that. Even my IT teacher referenced it. He's got a sticker of the USS Enterprise's logo on his laptop. Hell, he used a Spock quote in the middle of a speech to us, about handing our work in on time.

Understandable. Spock has a good quote for almost every subject if you look hard enough. And an IT teacher is probably going to look hard enough.

Is "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few or the one" from the Wrath of Khan? I think it might be, but I'm too lazy to use Google.
