Now that I have been around for a while, I think I finally have a good idea of how to express roll to dodge as seen at the Bay12forum.

Think of it as Roll to dodge (Which shall hereafter be refered) to RTD meets action thread and Lets Go on an Adventure! (Or DnD simplified, but as I haven't played DnD, I wouldn't know).

I will GM this to the best of my ability, with a goal of at least one turn a day.

Just a quick note: I do not think I can handle more than ten people, seven would be a great starting point. (i doubt this will be an issue though)

Feel free to join any time.

So let us go over the general need to know stuff:

A bigger action = a bigger consequence.
Horribly failing to go from room to room can only end in light bleading and a bruse, but trying something complex for the first time can be deadly grusome. You can still try though.

What you have helps:
I hope to run this on a common sense bases, what you do not have cannot be used, what you have can influence your roll for better or worse.

People get better:
Swinging around a sword makes you use it better, so if you know how to use a sword, then chances are that getting a 1 will not end with the sword where your foot should be.

Post an action, not an inaction:
Some people have gotten the idea of reverse psychology once their stats have gone into -2, let me just say that posting "I will not summon a dragon" just means "I do nothing this turn".

And now for the backstory and ultimate goal:

You and an arbitrary amount of random people, regardless of background were given summons to see the king. On your arrival, you are all immediatly arrested and charged with poor hygiene, and general uselessness. The king himself though, felt that instead of being in prison for life, he will send you into a deep cave in order to get the large ruby that rests within (historians are unsure of how it ended up there) for her majesty's Valentines day present, with success you shall be given anything you ask for, and a life worthy for people greater than nobles. Before anyone gets a chance to so much as make up his or her mind, you are all blind folded and escorted somewhere, then thrown onto the ground after what seems to be an eternity of walking. After undoing your blindfold, you take a look around...

You are all in a large cavernous place, there are torches on the walls which illuminate the place. There is a door made of steel behind you, it is locked with a sign that says "indestructable, and don't try digging under it either". There is a wooden door in front of you that looks more destructable.

If you want to join, please post an action, and feel free to define your character more. (Just cosmetic changes such as clothing and appearence, you can give yourself a title too if you really want to). Unless stated otherwise, all you are wearing is generic clothes.

*wonders how the oxygen gets in and out of this place, and starts thinking about CO2 poisoning*

Generic clothes will do fine for me, just so long as I'm wearing three-quarters.

First turn,
look out for errors, I will correct them once they are pointed out.

Because it looks much neater, mouse over the |s for your results

"you cant do this to me, I'm a duke for gods sake! they didn't even let me keep my cane, I can barely walk without it."
*tries to get from the iron door to the wood door*
| After walking, stoping to wheeze a bit then trudging on, you finally get to the door, goodness knows how it was possible without your cane.
*Examines wooden door*
| You look in the general direction of the door, but your eyes are still getting to the sub-standard lighting quality of the room.

I'll fix that, don't forget to post an action, or a branch of actions.

Also, for the sake of my sanity, unless you are helping someone, then actions shall be taken in order of post unless requested otherwise.

Biff stands up, dusting off the seat of his pants and grumbling. "Oh, this just freaking figures. One second that geek wants me to try out his 'time machine', and the next, I'm getting thrown into a cave with a bunch of Ren Fest rejects. Just my luck."
(Alright, just to get it out of the way quickly, blue jeans, t-shirt, leather jacket, six foot, and athletic. A jock, so he's good at running, throwing, and hitting things with sticks, but he's not too bright.)

Poltaap has yet to post his action, and I'll let ziggy's action pass for now, but it does brush up a bit with the rules. (Seeing as how she could probably get sharp throwing stones, and knives are fairly reasonable.)

If poltaap doesn't post an action, he shall fashion a cane out of the splinters of the door, (or if the door is still standing, he will just fashion a cane of the still standing door.)

Pre-roll notes
Unfortunately, Silf wasn't part of this turn due to lack of action Scratch that, he is here, but he won't have a status untill I get back from school tommorow. Ziggy, I can't just give you a bonus for high heels this early in the game, but you could try to look for something to make them deadly. Pixel Pincher is in the realms of acceptable, but I compressed his equipment into an "outfit", but don't worry, you can just mouse over the word in the status.

We have six people so far.

Sir Reginald the Mediocre, esquire, dusts the grey dust off his grey robes.

He casts Relatively Harmless Magic Missile at the destructible-looking door.
| Unfortunatly, you seem to be out of magical shape. The spell backfires! | You are now holding roses... plastic ones... you feel a little silly.

I probably have a name, but I've been in the desert too long to remember it.

*Eats an imaginary cheeseburger*
| You pantomime eating an imaginary cheezeburger but had to stop because it had imaginary onions in it.

"General Ziggles fears no prison!"
*Checks formal gown and high heel boots for damage, taking a few boot knives from the latter*
| You take out a few knives from your boots, none are particularly sharp but its better than being bear-handed.

A man in a white tunic, leather Vambraces, Black pants with matching boots, and a sword belt for a long sword starts to look for a solid stick good for wacking things.
| You look around, high and low, through every corner of the room (figuratively, the room is pretty round and rough except at the entrance) and finally find a slightly rusty sword. You pick it up, and notice that it is next to a skull. All of a sudden, a giant rat pops out of a hole and jumps you! | you sidestep it.

*The Duke attempts to make a cane out of the door*
| He tries to pull out a part of the wooden door, falling on his back.

(I should probably post an action too.)
*Takes charge*
| You are now the party leader, even the rat decides to follow you as you storm through the wooden door. And I do mean through the wooden door. | You get a black eye from that, unfortunately. (-1 modifier to accuracy).

You enter a room, on the other end of the room is a door with bars on it. There is also a sign. Looking around might be useful.

Ziggy, there is no more wooden door.
Poltaap strikes a valid point there, but if you do not know what to do because someone else might change your action, then you can say: "If x happens, then I do y, if it doesn't, I do z".

The only thing stopping me from posting a turn right now is Ziggy's action, and the fact that "What would Ziggy do?" gives me no real answer.
I'll postpone the turn for a one or two hours, as tommorow is more or less the weekend.

Pre-roll notes:
Moving between the two rooms won't count as an action, that being said you'll still have to roll for an action when moving between more than one room. Everyone's movement abilities cannot get them past two rooms at once. It also helps if I get some info on the details of your actions, because I'd hate to research them. I'll also hide Orangey's roll, for reasons that I have arrived to after some research on DnD divination.

For now, I'll have general ziggles action switched to looking at the sign, since biff ran through the wooden door, breaking it apart.
All in all, the turn was mostly uneventful.

Sir Reginald the Mediocre, esquire, is accustomed to feeling silly; he puts one of the roses behind his ear and follows the apparently charismatic man into the next room. He looks around and decides to try to do something useful; unfortunately, Sir Reginald the Mediocre, esquire, is not good at useful. He casts Cryptic Divination, and hopes for the best.
| You cast cryptic divination...
What you seek, is sure to be found
in a room quite bleak, it should be around

I check to see how rusty the sword is and figue out if it is sharp enough to fight with. I then go and grab one of the torches and start to look around the second room for usfull objects wile doing his best to avoid the blundering mage.
The blade is sharp enough at the moment.
| you grab a torch, but accidently grab the lit end! | Thankfully, you moved your hand away, but don't expect to use your off-hand for the next turn.

*supports the old man (Duke)*
(was waiting to see if oragey would destroy the door, and if he did, would I look for something to use as a cane, so now I don'r know what to do)

"great, now I'm both in pain and dirty...don't just stand there, help a cripled man up!"
*tries to get up on his own*
The duke manages to get up fine without the help of Count Tofive

*Looks around dramatically*
| You look around, craning your neck ever so slowly... well, there is plenty of cobwebs, the aformentioned sign and door with bars on it, and a box containing miscelaneous objects. There are also two levers.

*General Ziggles attempts to read the sign*
| You trip as you aproach the sign. | You manage to avoid injury by rolling on the ground then standing upright.
