I just thought I'd go ahead and put up a list of games I got around to enjoying lately, mostly because my parents have confiscated my videogames... I hope you enjoy them! (They are free...)

Dwarf Fortress: The fortress building game.

What is it?

-A game in which you lead seven dwarves to build a fortress in what might be the most inhospitable lands imaginable, or a really calm place. The goals are survival, but once you get that down you can try to get fancy with stuff.

The good:
-Can run on most computers made in the past ten years
-Sandbox fun
-digging and stuff
-Good and helpful community members
-It has a dedicated wiki

The bad:
-Hard to learn
-Original game has no graphics
-Big fortresses can slow down the strongest computer
-Graphics with game can be lacking (you can get a version with graphics, but it can still be confusing)

Wiki: www.dwarffortresswiki.net
Game w/graphics: http://mayday.w.staszic.waw.pl/df.htm

I'll add more to the list later, and feel free to add some of your own.

ok heres one....

Resident evil online.

What is it?

-A game in which you team with many people online and go on a rampage against zombies. The goals are survival, but once you get that down you can try to upgrade ur shit and have fun.

The good:
-Can run on most computers made in the past ten years
-real guns
-friendly people
-made by a friend of mine
-It has a dedicated fanbase
-supports voice chat

The bad:
-need to get used to the controls(trust me)
-sound kinda gets annoying
-a whole bunch of people on one server can slow down the strongest computer
-Graphics with game can be lacking if you dont have a good monitor

Seeing as how this was brought from the dead, I might as well make use of this.

Cave story.

What is it?
A 2nd person shooter, with a moving story that I will have to finish one of these days.

The Good:
-Simple controls
-Not graphically demanding
-Now has an easy download
-Lasts for hours

The bad:
-Can get frustratingly hard
-Expect to die a lot

Elona

What is it?
It is a game where you control a person. Almost like roleplaying games but has the depth of some tactics added in.

The Good:
-Little girl is a valid starting pet
-Bifftastic depth
-Large world
-nice variety of races and classes
-Plethora of weapons

The Bad:
-Lots of grinding
-Some of the random quests are not worth it.
-Death penalty is huge (though not as bad as most rougelikes).
-Leveling up seems to be kindof bad.

The latest download is 1.14, just scroll down to find it.

Yesyesyesyesyesyesss, Cave Story! I still haven't got around to finishing it. I introduced it to my ICT class a while back and nearly everyone's playing it now. It's awesome.
