This one was too much action and not enough plot.
Remind me how it was different than the last movie again? Tongue

No, it's a paradox. He does like any movie that someone likes, therefor he can not like any movie, because he is someone.

Sherlock Holmes was a unique combination of wordiness & action. I call it waction.

Two parts that I laughed at probably more than I should have: The 'this way up' scene entrance, and the 'in another life' quip by Sherlock.

Also, top hats FTW.

I hope they make a sequel.
Iron Man 2 made me very sad. It fell so short of the first. I've been looking forward to this movie for a year now, and I went to go see the midnight showing and everything. And is was so inadequate. The first pulled you into the Marvel world, this one was too much action and not enough plot. And the action wasn't even that good, it was blurry and dizzying.

I was the only one in my theater that clapped when the camera pulled back to reveal Thor's Hammer.

I just saw Jonah Hex. That was the most unbelievably oh rats stupid movie ever! It was action-packed and completely indifferent to the limitations of the time period(post-Civil War). The motifs were blatant and in many cases completely unnecessary. There's a lot of fanservice on Megan Fox's part(she must have had to wear a corset for ages to get that waist, OUCH). Many of the tenets of the film just weren't explained. The entire orgin story of the character took about a minute and a half to be narrated at the beginning of the film, so the movie was really the first adventure rather than a backstory. I got why some of the things that were included(only briefly touched upon) were there, thanks to my father on the drive home, but having read the series he, too, found it incredibly stupid. I found myself facepalming in the theater and burst out laughing, much to the annoyance of my fellow theatre-goers. I am very entertained.
So it was really stupid and also hilarious, but not on purpose. I mean, Wild Wild West was more believable as a post-Civil War movie, and there was a giant steam-powered mechanical spider involved.
Iron Man 2 I also saw recently. I thought it was stupid as well, but for different reasons. One of the main reasons it pissed me off was the COMPLETELY UNNECESSARY ACTION SCENE with the main chick beating people up for two minutes in a skin-tight outfit. Stupid as hell, and my father and brother brushed it off as 'part of any superhero movie'. On another note, Tony Stark's dad totally knew they'd have magical 3-D manipulatives in the future so that he could be able to see the pattern for the element in the designs for the Expo, even though, as he put it, he's 'limited by the technology of his time'? How would he know that they wouldn't change his design slightly, or that his son would be smart enough to figure it out? And why would Pepper still be putting up with all his shit?
So yeah. Jonah Hex was D.C.'s Ghost Rider, only with more spooky voodoo magic and stupidity, and Iron Man 2 was just Iron Man with more product placement and robot combat.

Haven't seen Jonah Hex, but did see Iron Man. At midnight. The day it came out. After waiting for it for a year or so. And it sucked...  Cry  I wanted it to at least attempt to live up to the first one, but I didn't at all. And it could have if they had let it! The story they chose had enough potential, the execution just died in the process. On top of that, the scene I was locking forward to from the trailers DIDN'T EVEN HAPPEN! Pel and I started hearing about it while he was in bootcamp and we decided then that we would watch it at the same time even though we couldn't watch together. Given the three hour difference, we ended up being three hours off, but I watched the first on the bigscreen again while watch the first. Then the movie ended up being that... I made me so sad...  Cry Cry
