Easier still would be to copy and paste one of our asterisks. Here, pick one:

Why can't autistic people be nerds or geeks? From what I know about the disorder (crippled social skills, odd mannerisms, tendency to obsess over certain things), it makes for rather stereotypical nerds. Do you actually have a point to make, or are you just leaning on your problems so that we'll say "Oh, we can't make fun of him, he's autistic."? If it's the latter, that's pretty despicable and Domesque; if it's the former, by all means, elucidate us.

I am autistic. I am proudly both a nerd and a geek. Your reasoning, given the definitions of "nerd" and "geek", makes no logical sense and is not supported by reality.

THANK You, Orangey, I've tried explaining that to him at least three separate times by now! It's been a completely useless endeavor on my part, but I'm not very good at saying what I mean, so I assumed that he wasn't getting the point. I am autistic. I am proudly both a nerd and a geek. Your reasoning, given the definitions of "nerd" and "geek", makes no logical sense and is not supported by reality.
And you're OUR autistic nerd/geek! Hooray for Grot! : D By the way, Jordan, Both of these people are correct. Listen to them.

I was so ready to watch this argument with a semi serious mindset, then I put Turbonegro on and it all went downhill.

Why the hell do they speak in norwegian and sing in english? That's just asking for some weird grammatical error to pop up. I get the feeling they wouldn't mind even if it did, though. XD (and actually, it already has, in the title of that song, but whatevs.)

I especially like that last part. I'm trying to think of any cases where that is definitely not true, and I can't think of any. I'm not trying all that hard, though, so whatevs.

making a point that some autistic people as you said obsess over certain things... like how i obsess over computers, violence, http://www.krinkels.net/movies/MadnessCombat4.html , my MP3 player, games and books.... nerds are those who would rather do one of the following: play WOW, play runescape, play other RPG's, talk using what i call geek speak like leet and others i dont understand, talk using binary, wimp out of fights, not go outside and play sports, and so on.... as for me i play sports, hate WOW and other RPG's like that besides a select few that were introduced in my childhood that are actually fun and not gay like WOW, love guns, love violence, fight alot, design games for sport, and so on....
