So, I don't know if it's been done before, and I'm too lazy to look.

Where'd your username come from?

Mine is a derivative of Richard Zure.
That's right.

I first tried seriously to join an internet forum under the name Richard Zure. Unfortnately, it creeped out my friend's brother, Richard, who was also on the same forum, since Zure is almost exactly like his last name.
The name actually came from a character named almost exactly after Ricky, so... yeah.
in any case, he asked that I change it, and I did.
I changed it to Drake Zure.
That became my standard internet identity, and I used it in various places. It also mutated to simply "Drake", and gained a middle name, "Phineas".
I became known to several as "Drakey", and I decided to use that here.

What's the story behind your username?

I seem to recall creating a thread like this. I'll let someone less lazy fish it out.

Why? We've got a perfectly good one here, as well as new members who could post on this thread.

There is one, but whatever. I'm tired of yelling at people for starting superfluous threads. (NOTE: Dom, this does not include you; no one else here is such a repeat offender)

When I was in junior health, we had to start this online diet-monitoring thing, and I needed a username for it; a friend of mine used MagneticPlum, which I thought sounded cool, and as I didn't have a standard name yet, I decided to go with AdjectiveFruit, and came up with SleepingOrange. It's been pretty standard since then. I use MagneticPlum whenever SleepingOrange is too long, and SilverZephyr occasionally. Rarely, actually. Only once or twice.

One day I decided to make a username that didn't relate to my real name. That was at the height of my spriting interests (though far from the height of my talent), and the meister was to make it original.
Not particularly interesting, but I guess it doesn't have to be.

After watching countless episodes of Weebl & Bob, I became obsessed with pies. that's about it.

I now no longer use that username, as I became even more obsessed with On The Moon, especially MoonHitler. I now use that as my username.

Surprising thing really, MoonHitler was available on the weebl's stuff forums.

Well....my original username, the crow again, was based off of a biff comic...

But 'the scarf' is of course, the Doctor Who scarf. It's also a shortened version of fourtysecondscarf, which is my usual online name...I'm trying to get 'the scarf' to be my usual, though. Most of the sites where I have 'fourtysecondscarf' as my name have fallen into disuse....

Also, what the heck is fortysecondscarf supposed to mean?

I have to admit that made me laugh.

Domanick is derived from the latin word Domini (which Is the D in the acronym A.D.) It means lord In Latin, Also it means to control.
My other names are as follows

DomanickX is my most common name, The X was added to state. "The ex-lord or the Lord of X"
Bizzaro Domanick was my favorite name, It was during a time when things were much simpler on this forum. No one flamed each-other and arguments were small at best.
Domanick The Mighty was my knight name on this forum, The Mighty was the name of a clan I lead and also the Name of my favorite movie. (Recently changed to Domanick the Legendary)
Domanick the God, was when I went insane with power (also Domanick the God was when Nega-Dom was in control of this profile)
Nega-Dom is simply a name for my Alter-ego, He may or may not lurk among us.
I am going to change my name to DoMaya soon so, Ill include a story when the time comes.

Yeah, I spelled 'forty' wrong though...It SHOULD be spelled fourty!

Fourtysecondscarf.
Fourtysecond Scarf
42nd Scarf

42nd-fourty second street, a play that I haven't actually seen. It connects to theater, though, so I won't argue if someone points it out. (this one was unintentional...)

42-Meaning of life, the universe and everything.

Scarf-the third companion of the fourth Doctor.

When I came up with the name, I was at the height of my H2G2/Doctor Who insanity. I desperatly needed a new email, as the old one was CRAPPY.
I also needed something to replace my old alias, which was DarkMariel...I think...

I really liked the name 'mariel' when I was little. No idea why....I don't really like it much now, though...

I prefer Scarf!

Mariel reminds me of Maril of Redwall. And her Gullwhacker.

I really like the Redwall books when I was younger.

That's where I got the name!
Mariel of Redwall was my favorite book. Most of the characters I made around that time were human versions of her...

Redwall kicks some serious ass.

I'm named Torg because every username I've made since November 28, 2005 has come from Sluggy Freelance, and I had no intention of breaking that trend.

I remember Redwall. I also remember how sad I was when I found out that Brian Jacques was dead.
But then I got over it.

Anywho, my name came from a long and twisting story. I was joining an online game, and, as i was obsessed with Yu-Gi-Oh at the time, I decided that my name should be "Slifer". Unfortunately, it was already taken. So, I modified the ending, and came up with "Slifedac", which I still use occasionally. However, due to a typing error, it came out as "Silfedac", which I now use for just about everything.

OMG you too?
Yu-Gi-Oh was my favorite show in fourth grade.
I also realize now that it would have helped me make some friends, had I not had to ride the bus home after school...accursed bus...

Slifer was originally called the 'Sky Dragon of Osiris' but it got changed.
Slifer is actually the name of the executive producer of the show.
....accursed 4Kids...

I spent a fair bit of money on Yu-Gi-Oh cards.

Then I realised that nobody I know plays it.
And I only managed to get two people into it.
One was my ex, so we stopped playing after we stopped going out.
And one lost interest.

Then again, I would have lost most of the games. I had no idea how to build a deck, I just had a bajillion cards...

But yeah, except that I've never used the ie spelling, and it is therefore not acceptable, because I rule the universe.
