I "played" DnD once or twice with a few friends when I was 10 or so.
None of us had any real understanding of the rules, so we weren't very successful in that regard.
Still managed to have fun though. Somehow.

Nobody I know is into tabletop gaming.  There is a Yu-Gi-Oh league that hangs out in the orchestra room during lunch though. |

Scrabble, Pictionary, Playing Card Games (Me and a friend made up our own), 1KBWC, Munchkin etc.
Tabletop games are very fun.
