No, Soar System, like Solar System, refers to a specific planetary system.

No, but the capitalization is important. A moon and the Moon are different, in the same way a soar system is different than the Soar System. The Soar System refers to a specific one in the Miky Wy Glaxy.

Do you mind if I drop the dropping of letters for a post in order to offer a full explanation? If not, cover your ears and obnoxiously talk over me. Thanks. Sol is the name for our local star. Solar System refers specifically to the planetary system consisting of Sol and its satellites. It can't correctly be used as a common noun. The correct term for other such systems is a "planetary system", though most people should know what you mean if you talk about "other solar systems". "Planetary system" is not to be confused with "star system", "star system" being binary, trinary or more stars.

Going away for 3 weeks tomorrow. See you all on the 3rd of September! Unless you're not online, of course. And I don't really suppose I'll "see" any of you, as such. ... No friends over after 10, don't disturb the neighbours, and no wild parties, 'kay?

Got back from holiday today! I know it's a bit late, but: So, capitalization's effect on the meaning of words, we meet again. But this time, I come prepared!
The best example of this is polish/Polish, if you didn't already know that. Why do we call everything of ours such boring names (As in the Common names) such as Earth (not too bad), the Moon, the Sun, when the other planets get cool names such as Io? And what's Solaris?

Actually, Sun also applies only to Sol. It is the English word. Referring to extrasolar stars as "suns" is incorrect.
Solaris is an operating system.

It's funny how as soon as you notice something (e.g. misunderstanding the side of a polish tin that actually says Polish on it - I did that quite a while ago) People keep telling you about it.

That's just our brains tendency to notice patterns and filtering out the noise that doesn't fit.

Yeah, if you are interested in purchasing a certain type of car, suddenly you see them everywhere. In reality they were there the whole time you just filtered them out as noise before.
