Where are you going on holiday/vacation?

Where have you been?

(I've just got back from snowdonia, and found out that there aren't any topics about holidays/vacations. If there are, then please direct me to it.)

Vacations right. Different term for us Americans you know. I don't have anything planned for the summer, yet. I don't think I will go anywhere anyway.

And it also says vacation now, K?

While in many cases I prefer the British nomenclature, I like 'vacation' better than 'holiday'; you frequently go on vacation even if it isn't a holiday.

I'm not doing my work experience. I'd love to, but it's at the start of the next school year (literally, it's the first week back) and my Mum booked a holiday which cuts into that week, so I'd only have 2 days there anyway.
My school slurps; it used to be two weeks near the start of the calendar year.

One piece of my German coursework is about work experience.
I have no clue as to how I'm going to do that.
Sad
Ah well, at least I can take some small amount of happiness from knowing that my friends will be either working all week, be it work experience or just at school, whilst I'm enjoying warm weather and a nice swimming pool.

For German work experience, try Weinerschnitzel.
That's the best I can do.

Man, that's strange. In the US, we h.ave summer jobs. School is over around this time so most kids 16 and over get a small job to get some money for the summer. I don't know how this compares to you guys in Britland.

Every now and then, someone from my year gets a paper round, but it doesn't usuall last that long.

Our holidays last from the middle of july, to the beggining of september, when the next school year begins. (Lasts about 6 weeks.)

How long does your summer break last?

One day for most holidays. Easter is about three days, sans weekends. Christmas lasts from as close to Christmas eve as possible until sometime around January 2nd.

That's pretty close. We go to school from the start of September until the end of May with no breaks except for holidays and weekends.

We have a week off about every 6 weeks, which breaks up the term into two halves (hence the name, "Half Term Holidays").
But this school year ends for us in about 6 weeks (whoo, six weeks off!).
Cheesy

But, whoa, really?
You must get really bored with only weekends and small holidays off inbetween then.

Including weekends, our lump sum of time of is 183 days. That is one half of the year.

And to Kentan, yes we get very bored. Watch a few of the "classic" teen comedys from the eighties to get a good idea of what most of us do to break the manotiny.
