Smiley

So here's the thing. I've been getting a lot of hits on my server from google reader. A lot of data is being sent that way. I had never used google reader before so I decided to check it out. I put in www.thebookofbiff.com and to my supplies, google reader started sucking up every post ever made to my website as if it was 1 giant never ending blog post.

So I'm not sure that I like that. :/

I decided to input some other comics that I read into google reader and all of them had either a placeholder graphic or a tiny version of the comic that showed up. So you would have to click on the placeholder or the tiny comic and go to the real website to read it.

So I decided to do the same thing and I redirected the RSS feed to the archive version of the comic. So now you have to click the little picture to see the full comic.

Only about 2% of my daily readers purchase things from my store. They only way I am compensated for the other 98% of those readers are if they view the ads on my website. That's sort of the deal for most webcomics. You get to read the comic for free and I get 1/20 of a penny in return.

Does that make sense or does it seem like I am overreacting?

That seems fair. You can't raise a family on a 2% purchase by fans. You need all the 1/20 pennies you can get.

I'd send money, but all I have is change.

That's not going to work.

Though I'm part of the 2% (proud owner of Vol. 1 and expectant owner of Vol. 2) I understand. I just wanted to make sure what I was getting in the RSS was really what was being sent and not a fluke..

My RSS is in my Bookmarks Toolbar, so I go straight to the comic I click, not the RSS page.
