I think it's partially where you come from. For instance, it would be harder for a new yorker than an englishman to learn scottish dialect...thats why I love my accent, or lack therof. Oregonians have very little accent, which makes it easier to learn new ones.

You know, Christen, there is a filter on the word m-e-h, right? I've noticed the filter on your posts a lot...

Hah! I'm getting adverts for language classes in this thread!

Also, while it's true that Oregonians lack an accent, you make up for it with mannerisms. You people with your sodapops... I have yet to hear one of you enunciate the word 'mirror'. It has two syllables, dang it!

Also, glad to hear that's working out for you, Christian. *Waggles eyebrows provocatively*

Then again, it's odd to think girls from your country like the accent of its predominant language... Wired.

Some girls in my choir were talking about accents (because we had NOTHING to do in the hour between performances) They were really obsessing over guys with french accents... Undecided I just sat in a corner and drew...they were freakay...

Wow, that got off topic fast...

On accents. Kentan, perhaps you can answer this. I've heard that people in England are discriminated for their accents. Is this true?

Yeah, like how people with Cockney accents are considered low-class.
