Hi! So. The other night, I was on the verge of having a dream about biff. I could tell, because I had been reading through the archives before I went to bed, and that ALWAYS has side effects. Anyways, the only thing that got in the way was that I couldn't imagine Biff as being three dimensional. Usually, this isn't a problem for me, as I'm very good at imagining how characters look. Then I realized that the reason I couldn't imagine him as 3D was because I don't have any Idea what he would look like as 3D, especially since I haven't seen much of how Chris draws people who aren't Biff. Whenever I can imagine what characters look like from books, its because there is no constant image of them being burned into my brain. My imagination is free to visualize them how I want and I am able to act out entire scenes in my head.

It doesn't just go with other peoples characters, I can usually envision my own characters in my head, and when I sleep, I can control what happens. I learned pretty early that this is called Lucid Dreaming. I can mostly always lucid dream, unless I'm extraordinarily tired, or not aware that I am asleep. I've found out that this is actually a skill that alot of people don't have. What about you guys? Are any of you able to control your dreams, and if so, have you had one of Biff that isn't just still images?

Really? People can't Lucid Dream? Craziness.

Any-ways, When I dream, it's not always realistic or 3-D; Some-times I dream cartoony or stick-figurey, or any number of things. I've never had a Biff dream, but if I did, it'd like;y be in Chris's art-style.

I either don't have dreams, or my dreams are of people who look like real people. Say I dream about cartoons. The cartoon characters would look like they were actual people.

Thats difficult for me becuase of the black lines...sometimes lines are a huge part of how a character is drawn, and without them...It looks odd, and I get hung up over it. Also, usually the characters are either my own, or from books, so theres no problem.

It's a toss-up for me. I don't dream that often, but when I do, it's generally Lucid. But I also get dreams that I can't affect, and others where it changes at some point in the dream, usually between 'scenes'. Then there are dreams where I move around as if one half of my body is 'asleep'. It's hard to figure out what those dreams are about, since generally my eyes never get in focus, and I'm mostly a visual person. It's been several years since I've had one of those dreams, though.

Sometimes (generally mid-day, when it gets really warm, and I'm reading) I fall asleep without realizing it, and then my dreams are generally confusing and strange. Its usually a mixture of real life, which makes it more confusing, and stuff that I've seen/heard throughout the day. These dreams usually end when my mom calls me downstairs to do a chore, and I wake with a bolt when I hear her voice, thinking I am where I was in the dream, and usually I yell something like "Sorry" for...I really don't know why....

Sprite, what do you mean moving around as if one half of your body is asleep...that's confusing....can you explain?

It's hard to describe, and a strange feeling. It's like half of your body has gone numb, and you can't move aroung easily. I spend most of those dreams crawling around not being able to lift my head. It's not a particularly relaxing experience.

Oh dear...That doesn't happen...usually, when my physical self is interacting with my dream self, my dream self becomes very tired, and things in the dream slow down....Another thing that can happen, if I'm more awake, is moving my hands, feet, or head, to correspond with whatever my character is doing. For example, if they raise their hand, I move my hand upwards an inch...They run, I twitch my feet.

usually, though...everybody in the dream falls asleep..but it always works in the plot....somehow...

I used to have these two little lamps on the head-board of my bed. Once, in a dream, I was crouching by a china cabinet. There was a plate on the top shelf. For some reason, it had a string on it. I pulled the string. It turned out it was the cord to one of the lamps. It hit me in the face.

See, Thats why I don't like having things hanging over my bed.
Of course, the ceiling slants inward..so putting things on the wall above my bed is very difficult....

That thing you were talking about where the physical and dream bodies corresponding and the dream slowing down... That happened to me once, sort of. I was visiting family, and I fell asleep while sitting up and reading in bed. I had a dream where I was falling backwards in slow motion, and just as my back hit the ground, I hit the bed and woke up.

Another thing, when I do dream, my dreams are generally pretty weird. They sort of shift around a lot, and I'm never quite sure what's going on.

Sometimes that happens...usually when I'm too tired to think of anything....then my brain makes up stuff to entertain me...but its all completely unorganized and unfiltered.

Last night, one 'scene' of my dream looked just like a game I used to play on the PC, but instead of a cursor, I had this floating 3-D hand; it could pick up and move stuff that normally couldn't be picked up and moved.

That sounds like fun! It's always annoying when you can't interact with everything in the game.

I usually have dreams based off of what I was doing before I go to bed. For example! Last night, I spent a good couple of hours on this forum, mainly talking with Sleeping Orangey. We both live in Oregon, and in my dream, We were both at this internet cafe (I don't know why) and arguing over the internet, without realizing we were in the same room. Eventually, SpriteMeister started talking to him(in rl), and I picked up on the conversation....It was much more strange than I am telling it, especially because I don't know what either of you look like, and so the people in my dream looked like people that I sort of know....only...your avis were your faces....

twas strange.

Genetic modification may one day make it a possibility Shocked
Of course, I'm joking. That would be rather useless, as your head would rot/be eaten/go mouldy/leak, etcetera etcetera.
Whenever I dream, I can't control it. I've read tips on the internet about how to start lucid dreaming (like performing regular reality checks, like counting your fingers or looking at the clock, so often that they become an ingrained habit). It sounds really awesome though, being able to control your actions inside your dreams Undecided

hmmm..well...you could start by controlling daydreams...those are much easier. Go to bed a tad bit early and lie there thinking about a story. Eventually you'll fall asleep, and in the beginning you'll lose control, but as you practice, you'll have more control in your dream state.

Whenever I dream, I control it or it seems that way probably due to me knowing what my habits and desires already are thus influencing the dream to my life. But one time, I dreamed of an army of Biffs. Tall biffs, small biffs, he bifffs, she biffs. It was trippy.

I was talking to somebody the other day, and they were on about wanting a Laser Screwdriver (50 Battle Pastries for reference), but they abbreviated it as LSD. Hilarity with their family ensued.
