That is so cool!

When you have time I'd love to read about some of your experiences... what part of the country where you in? What was the food like (what you did / didn't like)?

What are you excited to show Ken when he comes to Canada?

Indeed, Saint, welcome. Also, I can't help but notice that at the time I'm posting this, Kentan's post count is one away from being Satanic.

Haha, I'm so glad to be back!

While in China, I went to three different cities. Shanghai, Xian and Beijing. My favorite by far was Shanghai. That is where I went to Shanghai Foreign language school, and where I met Ken. It was also ver interesting there...We visited a water city- A city in which people live in old style chinese homes (sorta like the ones in crouching tiger hidden dragon). As you can guess by the name, there was lot of water there. We also went to see a factory there (the factory where they make our school uniforms). Not quite a sweatshop, but many of the people there just had their heads down working, and would occasionally look up to smile at us.

We also went to the pedestrian mall, its sort of like an outside mall. There are tons of neon lights at night, and it looks sorta like Time quare! People run up to you offering to sell you bags, watches, dvds...I bought a few Chanel bags for my friends, and a few Rolexes for family. Of course, one of these rolexs was a bit more fake then i thought, and I accidently bought one that says "Ralex". I love the store names in china. There was one store which I saw called "I Stone", I nearly fell over laughing, since these people hav no idea what it means, and went with it because it sounded cool. It was a jewlery store. One mall which we went to was called "Super Brand Mall". It was more of a tower with stores in it though. It had 7 floors! And I also saw a clothing store that had handpainted murals of The Beatles. There was also a hair salon called "Purple Haze"

Speaking of hair, yes. Alot of people have anime hair. Not so much the color (although I did see some pink, purple, and blue 'dos), but they have spiky bushy har.

We also went to the Oriental Pearl Tower, which isnt quite as tall as the CN Tower, but really cool. Although it's pink during the day, it lights up at night with a mix of colours such as white, sky blue, pink, green, and yellow.

Well, that's about all I can do right now. I've got a huge science project to do, and I already got one extension. Its hallowen, and I don't  have much time!

Happy Halloween!

'Purple Haze' is the name of one of the glazes we have in our ceramics studio. It's kind of a seafoam green with under-currents of lavender and lilac.

*sings* Oh when the Saint, came marching in
Oh when the Saint, came, mar-ching in
From that land, with lots of water
Well, he came a-marching in.

Sounds like a fun trip! I need to venture out of this country sometime.

It's also an awsome Jimi Hendrix song. lml/ Grin \lml
