Hey Chris, have you thought of selling more Biff merch and turning it from hobby to job. I know one of the guys at Dr. McNinja did it and he sells shirts and art and all kinds of stuff.

Yes that's the long term plan. For some reason I decided to start out with the hardest product to launch. Smiley Once the book is printed and I have regular orders going out I'll expand into t-shirts and stuff. Those will be a lot easier to make.

Other than the direct search function, is there anyway to backtrack through the Book of Biff achieves that I'm missing on the main site? Like a calendar display or a chronological text list of all the comic titles where you can click and go directly to that comic?

Yeah, maybe I should put this link in the sidebar...

http://www.ohnorobot.com/archive.pl?comic=628

There's still some extra links in the archive that I'm working on removing but here you can page through the titles and captions and find comics pretty quick.

Hey Chris, have you thought of going to comic conventions and stuff. There are quiet a few other webcomic artists that do so and I bet Chicago has a few cons.

Yeah Chicago is one of the larger ones. I think I may be able to start doing that kind of stuff next year. I'll have books and shirts and stuff to sell by then. Smiley

This thought just popped into my head, but what about Biff key chains? Those would be inexpensive to make (if I'm correct) and they would would prolly be best sellers. Oh! Oh! Oh! And bumper stickers. I looooove bumper stickers. I have them on my car and my laptop. ^^

Well, I guess I should ask a question....how do you come up with all of these ideas?

I currently write the comics while driving home each day from work. I record the idea into the voice recorder on my cell phone. I'm not sure where the ideas come from really... It's kind of like a skill at this point. I sort of brainstorm on a situation or object and then combine it with Biff and see what happens. Smiley

1. Exactly how long has Biff been running?

and

2. Would you ever post guest comics or anything like that?

1. Exactly how long has Biff been running?

Depends on your definition of running. He was first drawn in my friend's school planner back in 1991/1992... I forget the exact date but he gave the book to me so I could probably find out. It wasn't until 1994 that I started drawing Biff in final comic form. I made mini comics of them and gave them to people. I started posting them on the internet towards the end of that year. I made the first Biff website in early 1995. I stopped updating it sometime in 1998 and left the archive up for another few years. The new website started in April 2006. First I posted the original comics that I did in 1994-1998 but this time in color. (the original comics were only black and white). I started writing and drawing brand new Biff comics in August 2006 when my backlog of old ones ran out.

2. Would you ever post guest comics or anything like that?

Yes. I did have some guest comics run back in February. I'm going to add a new section to the website to archive them... just haven't finished that yet. :p

Haha, silly question I ask.

Would you ever draft us here on the forum to do guest comics, or is that reserved for other comicists?  Cheesy

It makes me sad that I stopped posting comics on the internet apparently right before people started reading comics on the web.

Someday when Biff is my actual job, then I'll say Biff is pretty popular. Smiley

Do you think that'll happen some day?  That'd be a pretty remarkable day, wouldn't it?

Do you have a picture from that time Biff met Elvis Presley? Before he faked his death, of course...

Ch, no. The correct answer is in HIS house. A house might even entail mine, and I feel certain I would have seen him. Or at least a giant eyebrow hair here or there.

What makes you so certain that it is HIS house?
