I get lots of emails about Biff and now on the forum I'm getting private messages about him.
Use this thread to ask whatever questions you want and I'll do my best to answer them.
Don't be offended if you post something off topic in this thread and I delete it. I want to keep this thread clean for future use.

How did you come up with the idea for Biff Webcomics?
Also, how did you come up with the character design for Biff?

Back in high school I had lunch with my best friend (also named Chris) and each day I would take his student planner from him and do funny drawings in it to try and make him laugh. Biff evolved as a reoccurring character from this. I did drawings of the 2 of doing things and the defining feature of the drawings was our hair. I think the original reason that Biff is bald is to make him look different than either of us. The whole deal with his eyebrows and mouth just kind of evolved. The more I drew him the more fun I had with them. You can see some of the evolution on the site. In older drawings I would usually draw him with teeth but that evolved into his barbed wire mouth (as my dad described it).

You invision Biff as an inventor?

Yes. He has a personal need for something and creates it... but it doesn't always work out the way he thought.

Was particularly fond of the breader.
He also has an unidentified desk job right?

Yes, an unidentified desk job, and a factory job, and a farm.

I am considering starting a webcomic-type thing. How did you go about creating Biff's website? I know basic HTML and CSS, but I don't know how to add more complex features such as the automatic strip navigation and comment space. Did you use a web builder program or use internet resources to add bells and whistles, or do you just know the code?
Sorry, what a boring question...

Are there actually any people other than Biff? I've never seen anyone besides him in the comic, although #1 makes it seem there are other people.

It's really just a blog with a little bit of customization by my. If I were doing it all over I would use comicpress. http://mindfaucet.com/comicpress/

What is your drawing routine? Do you draw each day's comic on that day, or do you spend the week on the next week's complement? Either way, it looks time consuming...

My routine has changed quite a bit over the years. Right now I'm drawing the comics the night before. So Monday's comic is drawn on Sunday and it goes live on the site at midnight Sunday night/Monday morning (central time). Currently I have a full time day job so Monday through Thursday I think up the comic during my drive home and then draw it after dinner. It currently takes me 2-3 hours to draw and post the comic. That's down from 3-5 hours it was taking me about 10 months ago.

Are you, as they say, "in" the community of webcomics?
What i mean is do you know/are friendly with any other artists online?

Yes. Look at the 6 mini buttons in the sidebar of the website for the ones that I am closest with.

We can celebrate by inventing something that goes tragically wrong and giving it to another member.

What anniversary do you want to celebrate? The day I drew the first Biff in my friend's student planner? The day I printed my first Biff mini-comic? The day Biff was first printed in a newspaper? The day the first website went live? The day the current website went live?
