Chapter: Comics
I have definitely bought some crazy things over the internet before but I think a house is a bit too much. At least if it was the actual house you planned on living in. I did find my wife on the internet but she came with pretty good ratings and the return policy was acceptable. I wonder what the return policy is on a 2400 square foot colonial?

You better hope that you’re wife didn’t read this.
I’m reminded of the One Red Paperclip story.
Space Butler: It’s your not you’re. (and you’re welcome in advance for the nitpick)
And yeah, I’ve heard that some land speculators have made a killing by selling lots in ghost towns (look up Omemee, ND for one)
I would live there, for sure!
Biff walks in, but ends up in Rapture somehow. It’s an underwater city that’s gone to hell.
You might think that clouds and hills in the windows would tip you off…
And sadly, I’ve seen one of these near my place. The front wall looked real, as did side walls (no 4th wall there though, you could see the backyard), but inside was just some small roofed area for kichen and a 4-person tent to sleep in… And there was no real roof.
The fun part? Someone actually bought it.
@The Dukenator: For some reason, I can see Biff setting his own head on fire with incinerate.
@Eltharrion:
Did they know what they were getting into before they bought it?
Potemkin village:)
@Eltharrion – Whaaaaat.
Oh his wife is reading this. But his sesnse of humor is one of the reasons I didn’t return him.
My dad is in the army so we move alot, and usually when we move we live on a military post with housing for us, but we recently moved to Mount Clemens, MI and had to live off post. Because we were currently living in Texas when we got his orders to move and wouldn’t be compensated if we flew up to go house hunting we bought out house online, seeing only a handful of pictures beforehand. It was risky I guess but it turned out perfectly. I’m just glad my parents talked to realtors instead of just using eBay.
@Jakem – Cool, I was wondering if someone would have a story like that.
I can see doing some research online, especially with a lot of realtors offering online “video tours”, but I think I’d really want to see the place in person before I put down any money. Then again, I did buy a car online, and that turned out reasonably well.
@Zephir Hahaha I need to finish up BioShock. BioShock 2 comes out soon and may be playing that as well
I picked my dorm room based on how it looked online. As it turns out, after recent renovations, the housing department didn’t update their photos, and I ended up with half the storage space I was expecting, and a bed lofted six feet off of the floor with no gaurd rail. Not a great combo for someone with a lot of stuff and a fear of heights.
@Zephir, I know that he would end up in the glass ceilings after an attempt at using Cyclone Trap.
Well, at least now he has a new place to park his rocket.
@D D
It was late and I wasn’t very alert. Regardless, thanks for the nitpick (actually, I do mean that without sarcasm).
@ all pointers about thing.
Sadly, they also knew what they were going to buy. Or at least the other of the two knew. Not sure about the other person… Might have been quite a shock.
@Jakem – hey, welcome to Michigan. We lure people in by selling then decent housing, then when their guard is down we all . . . well I’m not allowed to say, just wait for it, heh.
And Biff also ignored the #1 rule when buying a house. Never buy the blue one. We all know about the blue ones, cripes man, were you not paying attention when they showed that film in school?
