Chapter: Comics
When I was a kid we would get the kind of bologna that came in the red wrapper. It would be freshly sliced at the deli and when you went to make a sandwich you had to peel off the ring of waxy paper from each slice. This was all explained to me after I made my first bologna sandwich all by myself and started pulling pieces of red waxy paper out of my mouth.

I’m really not going to buy groceries at that store anymore.
Bologna and ketchup on white bread: The most common meal of my childhood. I’m sure it’d suck if I tried it today, as would most things I enjoyed back then. I’m in no hurry to try canned pasta again… Except maybe Scary-Os. Those will always rock.
The Duck Has Spoken.
Yuck & Ouch…
I used to eat the paper for a long time before realizing it wasn’t just part of the bologna.
worse are those hot dogs that come individualy wrapped, occasionally resulting in a bunful of sticky burnt plastic
A friend of mine who was at my house years ago, took a slice of Oscar Mayer turkey bologna and hurled it at the ceiling. It was stuck up there, didn’t come down till my father made me remove it.
Anyone heard Weird Al’s My Bologna?
Fresh and Bologna. Two words that I never figured I’d ever see in the same sentence.
@TJovian . . . you still haven’t. look closer.
I can only assume Welchee farms grows broccoli or has a 4 year old scribble trees for their picture. Either way: My bologna has a first name, its B-I-F-F! my Bologna has a second name, its… B-I-F-F! I love to eat it every day and if you ask me why Ill say: Cause Biff has a way with B-o-l-o-g-n-a.
They weren’t exactly in the same sentence… “Freshly” and “it” were, but “Fresh” and “Bologna” not.
Bologna, btw, another thing wasted on America only, or does any European knows it?
Bologna is people….BALOGNA IS PEOPLE!
@Micah – AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!
What was Biff doing in the bologna factory on Sunday anyways? Especially when he was expecting it to be closed? True, its great to meditate by the silent machines…
@baughbe – I know the answer, but I’m not telling. 🙂
My eyes haven’t quite focused yet this morning. I thought it said ‘Watcher’ Farms, which really sounded frightening.
I actually work at a deli that sells the bologna in the red wrapper. We have to take it off before we sell it. It is a pain in the buttocks.
Fried Biff anyone??
Fried rancid balogna. It’s what’s for breakfast!*
*After 72 days on patrol, and the sub’s reefers are getting kinda low on anything edible… 😮
I never had much of a taste for bologna. But deli-sliced ham… Mmmm…
Bologna? What is it anyways?
Sterima, for your question: I’m from Finland, North Europe, and never heard of this thing. EVER.
It’s a shape week I know it.
@steriema: Bologna is a city in north-central Italy.
The food Americans call Bologna is actually called “Mortadella di Bologna”.
@ The Dukenator-
I have! Love that song.
Ah, now I know what is Bologna in America! In Europe we know it simply as Mortadella. Don’t change it with the Bolognese sauce for pasta!
…..this makes me glad that there was no bologna earlier……it was going to be my lunch.
This makes me want to go fix a bologna and cheese sandwich…
I’ll try not to think of a screaming Biff in my mouth
OK… This reminds me of the screaming pizza from that Freddy movie that made me swear off pizza for a month.
