#872 – Widescreen

There are many things that are really awkward to carry because of their shape more than their size. If everything could please just cooperate and gain the ability to be compressed into the shape of a briefcase with a comfortable handle. It may be only 40 pounds but if it is as wide as I am tall then I’m going to have a heck of a time getting it through this mountain trail.

    Rofl. Yes. There are many things that can be moved by a single person this way.

    The same goes for “size more than weight.” Take a 20 pound laserjet printer, put it in a 4′ diameter box, and you have a recipe for instant back strain.

    Huzzah I have finally caught up to the now with the Book of Biff! It has only taken a month and some change (I find I real a lot of the commentaries). Now I can go all the way back to the beginning and see what anyone has posted after me. =D

    It’s all about balance. I once helped a friend move… and keep in mind that she was a single female friend, and I was a single male. So, I hoisted a sofa onto my head, and walked from the truck and up the stairs before she saw me, just in time to help maneuver it through the doorway. She seemed more concerned with my sanity than impressed with my mad skills of putting things on my head.

    You ever tried to handle a 4′ x 8′ x 2″ sheet of Styrofoam in a stiff wind? It might as well be made out of concrete if it’s facing the wind.

    The true culprit here, is obviously faulty shoelaces.

    SHOTGUNsniper, that’s called a sail.

    Oh no! That poor TV!

  9. baughbe says:

    Yeah, I just went through something similar. Taking out the AC unit from the window. The support brace on the outside gave way just as I was grabbing it on the inside. AC meets ground, the hard way. I strained both arms trying to keep it from falling. Still it could have been worse. And I STILL want a pair of green sneakers.

    ouch! that happened to my dad once he broke the tv -.-;

    So THAT’S what his foot looks like! And I didn’t know Biff’s house was a two story; or is he taking it into the basement?

  13. Joe says:

    I am always surprised by the fact that anyone who makes large household objects, be they entertainment or furniture, designs them in such a way that makes me believe that they don’t think anyone will ever want to move it, ever.

  14. MaskedMan says:

    @Project Dark Fox;
    That’s five words.

    Biff needs an overhead travelling rail lift system in his house – It’s toally Biff-appropriate: An over-engineered solution to a relatively minor annoyance. Of course, he’d whack his head on the dependant block and hook on a weekly, if not daily, basis. Which only makes it more Biff-tastic.

    Sort of like the overfilled clothes basket I carried most of the way down the stairs in February of this year. It flew the last three steps and I ended up laid up for 4 months and 5 casts, lol. Briefcase and a handle clothes basket, I’m working on that now!

    That didn’t end well!

    I hate it more when there’s a small object that can be carried comfortably that weights a bajillion tons. People are like, it’s not that hard, quit whining! YOU carry it, ya know?
    Oh, that’s too heavy to carry by yourself. No, no, I’ll manage! Would you like me to help? No, I’m fine, thank you though! Oof! Umf… urg… ahhh! *Crash*

    When I was on vacation last year, there was this rock ranch that had some interesting things in the store. One of the things was a brick of lead-infused glass. It was smaller than a loaf of bread, but weighed over fifty pounds–I could barely pick it up with both hands. They also had a larger chunk that weighed 200+.

  20. Hershey says:

    I hate things that fit through your front door, but through any other door in your house.

  21. Hershey says:

    *but not through any other door in your house.
    loltypo.

    @Miles
