#745 – Vitis

I got to pick out a plant to take care of when I was a kid. I chose a tiny cactus. This of course was a perfect choice. I would forget to water it for extended periods of time and it actually thrived. It grew so many new segments that it was bent over from the sheer weight. My cactus was the #2 cool plant in the neighborhood though. A kid down the street had a venus fly trap.

    Top ten time travel trou-???

Trou-what? THE SUSPENSE IS FIGURATIVELY KILLING ME!!!

Also, I would name my cactus shark

  2. Space Butler says:

I don’t think Biff should own a cactus

  3. Biff should NEVER own a cactus. For the world’s sake.
I’m guessing the book is “Top Ten Time Travel Troubles”, even though at first it looked like “TROUNEB”. I think what looked like an N is a B with a sharp angle on the top, followed by an L.
I call “Rescue the ivy” week, just because.

And it looks like the toaster hasn’t been fed either….

  5. jahg says:

Looks like Biff needs to take some horticulture evening classes.

Also, what’s with all the toasters?!

    Regards,

    James

  6. Shorty says:

I guess he integrated snake DNA into his plants as well.

  7. Gunslinger says:

‘Top Ten Time Travel Trousers’? That’s what I thought at first, sounds like something Biff would read.

  8. Micah says:

    Early guess: Batman villains weeks.

  9. greenimp says:

    time travel TROUSERS!

  10. Space Butler says:

    @Micah
very astute, but I personally believe that there are more interesting Batman villians than Poison Ivy, the over the top environmentalist.

I had a cactus AND a venus flytrap. I guess plant-wise, I was the coolest kid ever. My flytrap died though. Maybe because I kept tricking it by putting my fingers in the traps to annoy it.

I’m going to go out on a limb and guess either gardening week or genetic alterations week.

We’ve always had heaps of cacti and succulents around home. Rain isn’t frequent enough, and the soil always seems to be so crappy that no amount of fertiliser or claybreaker can make it habitable to anything other than weeds. Plus, a thorny vine on a fence and a bunch of cacti underneath is so good when people try to break in.

  13. silversaraph says:

    harmless things turned bad week?

  14. Darkpheonix005 says:

    I should’ve gotten a cactus. I have a bonsai plant, but i think it’s dead. i’m not sure, can’t tell.

I think harley quinn is my favorite batman villain.

  15. Psychosis says:

Could the plant be one of those time travel troubles he was studying?

  16. Dude says:

I’m going to go with “Things Happen to Biff While He Reads” week.

  17. Grug says:

I want to subscribe to Bread magazine.

  18. AdmiralChaos says:

And now we get to guess what the “B” on the cutting board represents…

Also…”Things Biff forgot to do” week

  19. Chris says:

    @Dude – Hahaha, I like that one. 🙂

  20. Drakey says:

A venus flytrap? That upstaging BASTARD!

I had no plants. They would have died horrible deaths. Even a cactus.

  21. trilobite says:

I had an agave. In Ohio. It was awesome. Big green spikes with little thorns down each edge and and long, wickedly sharp thorns at the tip of each spike. It was an inside plant, of course. Unfortunately, my roommate’s cat kept peeing in it. It died.

  22. ZackDark says:

    LOL
    now that’s the Biff-ish humor I love

  23. Graceofbass says:

This is one of those comics that made me laugh out loud. I actually do really well with houseplants, I have a couple that have lived for several years and are still doing pretty well. But every now and again I forget to water them and they start to droop. I think all plants with they could do what Biff’s does when they’re thirsty.

Either the cat doesn’t like litter boxes, or it hates plants.

In other news, where does Biff get all of this snake DNA from? Does he own a snake!?

  25. Mike Chapman says:

Does anyone ever notice how everyone who comments on Biff has really good grammar?

As for the “B,” I second “Bread Magazine.” I think the toaster is reading it.

  26. reynard61 says:

Finally! Something that can wrap itself around how Biff’s mind works…

  27. Anji says:

At least he got last weeks toaster problem worked out?

  28. Linzleh says:

Ooooh, cool toaster! Guess more than one thing has “grabbed” Biff’s attention….magazine, book and thirsty plant. Biff must be riveted on time travel, or maybe he’s already left and we’re seeing his holographic space-saver image. The plant certainly must have taken some time to wrap around his head that many times.

  29. -2! says:

    Bread magazine is awesome!

Also, its tomorrow now so why is there no next button still?

  30. -2! says:

Uhhh never mind the no next button its there now

(that could not have been cashed as i didn’t get on the Internet yesterday)

  31. Clyde says:

The toaster is unplugged and on the table while he’s reading about time travel…

(something tells me the toaster is about to be repurposed)

  32. Nokore says:

It’s coming to get you, Barbara…

  33. Radical Edward says:

    Water your plants regularly.

I have two cacti that I got from a teacher who was traveling to Japan with his wife (wife was in the military) and he gave me those cacti since I guess customs might not be too keen on foreign florafauna.

    The cacti have survived me.

  34. MrD says:

Cactus wobs make fine slingshot ammo.

  35. YukiSnowflake says:

My mother had a cactus that looks nothing like a PROPER spiky cactus.
    We named it “Spike”.
It died. Well, my mother never had a green thumb.
Or geography skills, and she could never cook caked JUST right, and…
i should just stop now to save people the horror of mini-ranting in comments.
