The best part about having multiple bosses is that it is their job to tell you to do stuff. Fortunately they don’t have any issues with contradicting previous instructions or giving new directions that will cause great delay and extra effort from everyone but them. Office buildings of more than 3 stories create a distortion field inside where concepts like time and money don’t adhere to the traditional laws of physics. Corporations are forced to use the boss multiplication factor to try and compensate for these issues. In practice this has a near 100% success rate and is the number one factor for high employee retention rates.
Also, I plan on having a crazy fun time at Webcomics Weekend in Easthampton, MA on March 20-22. It’s free and open to all!

Man, sounds like a fun job you have.
Yep, it’s definitely “kid stuff at the office” week.
When I first read “bosses” in conjunction with the 3×3 layout, I though you meant bosses in the video game sense.
I’m sure Biff’s chair has a knob or lever that could deal with that problem.
Biff could fix this by offering to wind up their grandfather clocks for them…
It’s worse when only one of those bosses is actually YOUR boss. In my case the other two (or maybe three) weren’t my boss. They were just other higher-ups from my floor.
Apparently Biff’s inner child is running rampant at work. Gosh, toys, jammies and playtime on salary…the stuff of dreams!
I’m detecting some hardcore office space themage going on here.
Do you know if you’ll ever be in michigan?
@Silversaraph – Not 100% but probably.
Easthampton? I’m not that far from there… I might go. 🙂
Also, I don’t have multiple bosses, but I do have multiple assistant managers. I’ll get a task from one of them, and about ten minutes into that task another comes by and tells me to do something else. Good times.
Those buttons look suspiciously happy for office workers… I suppose it’s because their salary is larger than Biff’s.
Is that a Sesame Street phone?
Oh god… D: D: D: Scary thought. Having Elmo as your boss…
Nice speed-dial phone. I could use one like that…
My boss situation is situational; I have an official boss, and I have a boss on every project to which I’m assigned. So, for instance, this week, I have thrree bosses. Next week it could be five. Or two. Or seven.
Pity me.
:-p
My boss situation is funky too. I needed four part-time jobs to get to full-time, so I have one boss in my home-town, one over a state, one in the Philippines, and one in Greece.
Luckily, I schedule, so there isn’t much problem – just different styles at different times…
I like his phone…
Also, he is using The Chair, right? It has appeared in a couple of biff comics before but I don’t remember the numbers.
Great comic!
Just arrived here from a banner ad on Real Life Comics, looks to be interesting
It’s the chair of insanity again!!
Officially my boss is one person but he wanted me to report to someone else, she wanted me to report to someone else…
I feel ya man, I have 11 BOSSES! I have the three that I report directly to, the other two who are a step above them but love to give me things to keep me busy, a stuck up one who likes to butt in and call me stupid, a heavily german accented one who always comments on my assignments but I can never understand her, a few more who are gunning for the higher position so they’re getting practice in by bossing me around now and then the boss of my bosses who gives me random things to do and then looks at me like I’m speaking another language when I try to show them to him when I finish.
It’s the return of the complicated chair! 😀
Now I’m thinking about the rest of the work place. The janitors use those toys you push and the balls inside bounce around and there’s nap time!
I hope Biff at least gets naptime and maybe some juice and cookies afterward at some point during the day.
Why the hell did they stop doing that for people after kindergarten, anyway?
Biff seems to have to same job as I do.
Speaking of the con, or webcomic weekend or whatever it is called, if you did one in lower (as in southern) Ontario I would definitly go, and if the Book of Biff or other merchandise was for sail, I would be getting myself some.
Also, as I mentioned in an email I sent you:
Book of Biff Poster(s), because if i have to make it myself i have no reason to give you money
Reminds me of Office Space.
