Chapter: Comics
When I was a kid we would get some awesome icicles on our house. It probably wasn’t good for the house but it was awesome for the kids. Every few years the weather would be just right and we would get a giant column of ice reaching from the second story roof all the way down to the ground. The ice was thick enough that none of us could shake or kick it down. That’s probably a good thing though, all of that ice coming down would have done a lot of damage to a little kid’s body.

I now fear Biff’s drainpipes. Nothing good could come of mixing grape flavor with decomposing leafs and rain.
i think i’d be tempted to just lick the flavoring out of the tiles when having them installed…
I like grape.
I’m glad he didn’t
get watermelon tiles.
@stonehydra;
It could be grape-flavored tea!
I grew up in Colorado… We got some epic icicles, just like Chris describes. When they started falling, you had to look up before entering or leaving the fall zone.
Wow, Biff is smarter than he looks!
I wonder if he gets the roof tiles at the same store he got his cheese tiles…
i’d connect the gutter to the plumbing so all the water tasted like grapes.
i wish we got icicles here in england.
and snow.
If on we had snow here in singapore.
And i can see why biff looks forward to this. =p
I have got to figure out where Biff does his shopping.
Biff only buys parts. he’s a mad inventor.
@ RFTP
well that would explain some things…
I went to new york when I was five and froze my but of and slipped on Ice and snow, Plus, icicles Aren’t all ways shaped like that, Some have smaller icicles coming of the origanal. So thats another situation situation of cartoons lying
Hehe, this reminds me of when I was a kid, I used to fill up ice cube trays with coke and make coke ice cubes since regular ones watered down the drink the more they melted.
I’ve never really seen any impressive icicles like that though.
I totally want to try this now.
so now youve got to wonder where he got those tiles, and why they seem to be outside…
Oh, snap.
My uncle got impaled by an icicle.
Man, now i really wished I didn’t live in Louisiana. Those icicles sound really fun. Ever stuck your tongue to one?
Brilliant! I can’t believe someone hasn’t actually invented something like this yet…
Azu: O_o
was he ok?
Yay! It’s winter in Biff-land!
I gotta get me some of those…then move back to Canada
A,, I found an icicle about seven foot once, snapped it off at the top and carried in back to the hotel, then “planted” it in the snow outside by packing snow around the base. I dread to think what would have happened had anyone fallen off their balcony.
And Dragonbrad, very rarely do icicles sprout little icicles, it only happens at the very top or if snow sticks to the sides.
One time it was really cold and a bucket that was filled with water outside my parents house froze. The weird thing was there was an icicle poking UP out of the frozen surface of the water in the bucket! I don’t know how it happened, but it wouldn’t surprise me if Biff was somehow involved.
Okay, we’ve seriously got an impostor here. That is NOT me up above… Dammit, I get this all over the place! I never dreamt it would spread to one of my favourite webcomics…
The Duck Has Spoken.
@ Chivalrybean:
Quite simple. The water froze at the edges first, and when water freezes, it expands. As the ice crept toward the center of the bucket, water was pushed upward, where it then froze. Pretty neat, really.
Or it could have been Biff… I’m watching you, man.
The Duck Has Spoken.
Mmmm, grape-flavored icicles! I don’t really like grape-flavored stuff, but does Biff have animals eating his roof now that it tastes good? It would be a much worse problem than termites…
Is that hygienic???? Lol…
Sweet idea,
Although the tiles probably wouldn’t last very long,
also, the roof must be pretty far out for the icicles to reach biff,
Maybe that’s just me :S
Nice one,
Dan x
I wonder if you can get them in watermelon…
teee, that’s awesome. oh, and i just got my biff book in the mail today. it’s kind of awesome.
@richard: They’re his roof tiles, aka shingles.
Now I’m in the mood for grape Kool-Aide. Ah well, I’ll have to settle for grape Propel.
In Vermont, we obvoiusly can get some fairly epic icicles. There was an old factory building I would pass on the way to school every day that would have icicles that grew, seemingly, every day until Spring. By the end of some winters the icicles reached all the way to the ground (10 feet or more) and were >6 inches in diameter. Sweet 🙂
@jezMM I’ve always wanted to do that, but we get our ice from a boring ol ice dispenser.
THAT…
IS…
GENIOUS!
That’s gotta attract bugs, though.
I wonder if I could get Coca-Cola soda tiles… Then I’d be really happy.
When I was a wee little lad, I’d take vanilla icecream and mix some Grape Crush soda. Yummy!
I’ve never figured out why no company has ever made concord grape icecream.
It doesnt snow in portugal.
poor me
my grandmother’s house would get these *amazing* icicles every couple of years…I remember in particular during the blizzard of ’78, each corner of the roof on one side of the house (the one that didn’t get quite as much sunlight) would sprout icicles that went the entire height of the house. They were around 10 inches in diameter and looked like ogre fangs or something. Gave me the wiggins.
Apropos of very little: I’ve read that that every winter several people in Moscow are killed by falling icicles.
winter is the BEST!!!
i have an all-out war, and a sled race. we are going to have a snowman contest this year.
the only bad thing is i live in Jersey, so the snow would probably kill us if we ate enough.
I’ed install those, I love grape flavored stuff.
It is my strong belief that kids are just dumb.
…if i had a house right now, i would use Biff’s idea…and have a blast during winter.
a few years ago there was a redicules rainstorm in the middle of winter. the rain froze almost imediatly and the next day my brother and i spent hours popping off the ice so it kept its shape. i managed to get most of the mailbox and was so excited to get the whole front door untill i relized how heavy and thick the ice was and if fell on me, shattering across the driveway.
