#383 – Stuffed

My favorite stuffed animal was a Winnie the Pooh bear with a built in music box. I would crank it up and fall asleep with my ear on his belly. I loved listening to the buzz of the gears turning during the pause after the song ended and before it looped back to the beginning again. I still have Winnie in a box in the attic. I saw him last week and fortunately the music box still works.

Is that a Skull the Troll (of PvP fame) I spy in the bottom right corner?

  2. Atcote says:

Aww, what an adorable Thanksgiving massacre!

And this of course raises the question; What does Skull taste like?

    *Gnaws on Skull plushie*

  3. GK says:

Heh, Gives a new meaning to the phrase “Turkey Stuffing”

Makes me wonder what Biff will come up with next.

  4. Ela says:

    Stuffing…..

  5. Ryan says:

I for one, am thankful Biff isn’t at my thanksgiving table. Although he would have some interesting dinner conversation. But I would feel bad and probably end up eating something he made. :S

  6. the Scarf says:

Dinner conversation? Is Biff even capable of speech?

    I like this one….stuffing….ingenious!

  7. Garrett says:

Hmmmm…….. I happen to HAVE some stuffing in my closet. Hmmmmmmm……. >:D

  8. Envious Luna says:

    oh…..oh my……
*glances nervously at her collection of stuffed creatures*……
I suppose I should be glad my tofu-turkey comes with stuffing included….

You can’t have Mr. Huggy. You just can’t.

  9. Chivalrybean says:

That might be worse than the stuff(ing) that I would eat growing up at home on Thanksgiving. I never liked stuffing… my wife says I’ll like hers when she makes some.

  10. Sleepingorange says:

Ugh… That is significantly more creepy for some reason than it would have been had you had decapitated animals and guts all over the table.

But I love the PVP reference. It begs the question ‘Is that a tribute to Scott Kurtz or a subtle ‘I Hate Skull’ message?’.

  11. Wannabeelf says:

i have a lamb like that. that was back when toys were built solid.

  12. Chris says:

    Who could hate Skull?

  13. Hanii Puppy says:

“Upon removing the Giblets, Biff discovers what happened to all of his childhood toys … and why his pet turkey kept coughing up hair-balls.”

  14. fishmeester says:

    I also had a wind-up music toy!
It wasn’t a stuffed animal, it was a hard plastic mouse, but I too loved the gentle hum of the gears. I don’t know where it is now. : (

  15. Nightmare says:

I think I actually had that exact same winnie the pooh, was it playing a lullaby and sleeping with a little pillow? Because I had a stuffed animal exactly like that and it was winnie the pooh, I miss it πŸ™

  16. JSW says:

Biff sure does know how to take the practice of making a turducken to a whole new level……

  17. roy_vf1s says:

I had a Teddy Ruxpin when I was growing up – after I got over being scared about his whole moving and talking, etc. it was impossible to get me to put it down – even to change the batteries.

  18. snakeadelic says:

I have buttloads of stuffed animals, everything from a hot pink vulture to a three-foot Grinch. One of them, a faux-sheepskin dog I’ve had since I was, oh, about 5 or 6 I think, plays Brahm’s Lullaby. I’m seriously considering setting up all my stuffed animals now that we’re settled in the new apartment, and taking some pics of them to prove I really have some of the weirdest & most ugly/pathetic stuffies known to mankind.

  19. steam punk says:

    Teddy Ruxpin = win.

My friend’s sister was making the turkey this one thanksgiving and the funniest prank was pulled. Apparently she’s really quite gullible so this was the perfect opportunity for a prank of this caliber. What had happened is that, their mom had found a way to distract her and get her away from the turkey. Once his sister was out of the room, their mom proceeded to take the stuffing out and replace it with a baby turkey (Actually I think it was a Cornish hen). His sister cooked the turkey without even noticing. So when she went to cut the turkey, to her surprise… everyone frowned upon her saying that she cooked a pregnant turkey and she was devastated. After they told her that it was a prank (because they felt bad) it took them a while to convince her that turkeys actually lay eggs.

  20. Reynard says:

And Biff wonders why his turkeys are so dry every Thanksgiving…

    Ah, yes; plushies…

I have a small-but-respectable collection of movie-and-TV-themed plushes. (Some of them are rather rare now — especially my 13-inch Mrs. Brisby from “The Secret of NIMH”, my favorite American animated movie. Right now I’m looking for a 7″ Kikyo plush from the Anime show “InuYasha”.) Plushies rule!

  21. Bill says:

OMG!!!! I had a blue bunny that had the same kind of gearbox!! I used to fall asleep listening to the buzz more than the music!! LOL

  22. Radical Edward says:

    MY TOYS!

Seriously, I love plushies, but my mother thinks I have enough. She’s like “No more! You have enough!”

  23. dragonbrad says:

i am thank ful for my pillow stuffing in my 16 pound turkey

  24. Sye216 says:

That’s… not stuffing that I would eat. Seriously. I love my mom’s stuffing, but I don’t think I’d be comfortable at Biff’s Thanksgiving table.

  25. dragonbrad says:

is it just me or is that turkey huge

  26. Deirdre says:

    Trollducken!

Reynard: Try Borders Books for Kikyo. I’ve seen one there.

  27. Kitsunie says:

    Haha, Skull plushie head. PvP!

  28. Grep Agni says:

    RadicalEdward

Seriously, I love plushies, but my mother thinks I have enough. She’s like β€œNo more! You have enough!”

This is the single best thing about moving away from home. Any toy you can afford is now yours! Until you run ot of space for the giant stuffed monkey and fuzzy purple frogs.

  29. KZero says:

    >< I hate Pooh. So much.

I don’t care for the homemade stuffing I’ve had too much. I love the boxed stuff though.

  30. AJ says:

i had a Winnie the Pooh stuffed animal when i was little!! it was my favorite…when i was 3, 4, and maybe 5, i would fall asleep to the music every night. all you had to do was press his pot of honey and the music would loop 3 or 4 times. thanks for the memories! πŸ˜€

  31. Jenn says:

I had that same Pooh doll. I used to annoy my mom by constantly winding it up over and over again. I’d listen to that thing for hours lol. I used to turn the key manually to make it play really fast too lol. I loved that doll…

  32. mrmeval says:

A cow stuffed with a sheep stuffed with a goat stuffed with a turkey stuffed with a duck stuffed with a chicken stuffed with a rabbit stuffed with a squirrel stuffed with walnuts.

    Call it a petamare

  33. BrainpanSonata says:

Wow, Chris, what an interesting coincidence. I had a stuffed rabbit with a built in music box. I’m saving it to give to a niece or daughter in the future.

  34. SurveySays says:

πŸ™ my mother thru out my 2 favorite childhood toys before i could grab them when i moved. she had decided i was taking too long to pack up everything and just had my step dad drive a bunch of it to the dump. i was so sad. i was going to give them to my kids whenever i have them. I <3 u Puppy and Mr. Teddy Ribbons. your memories will be cherished.
