#324 – Ball

I had lots of toys get stuck in dangerous places when I was a kid. The worse places were usually on a roof or up a tree. Sometimes we would use other toys to try and dislodge the original. We would wind up losing a baseball in a gutter while trying to knock a frisbee off of a roof. I had one famous frisbee success story when I shot one out of a tree with a bow and arrow. It took me 20 or so shots but I managed to get it down without spearing it first… or any of the spectators for that matter.

    Ahh the good old days.

    Awesome comic as always.

  2. Dark Jaguar says:

It took me looking away from the ball to notice his arm’s HORRIFYING condition. AAAAGH!

On another note, what are his bones made out of? They have a bit of a metallic look to them to me…

  3. Elli says:

*whimper* And he’s not even FAZED? This is a little extreme even for HIM, I think!

  4. at first I thought that this was something about a robot arm, but now I see that thats his ulma sticking out O.o

  5. x__wasabi says:

Looks to me like.. Biff is made of.. some kind of dough? Held together by metallic bones?

  6. Elli says:

Hmmm… maybe modelling clay of some sort.

  7. thewho says:

At least his eyebrows are okay…

  8. Nick says:

I don’t think Biff is human. He’s got a spaceship. ‘Nuff said.

  9. Rob says:

I find it interesting that there is no muscle or tendons, how does he move?

  10. Yakboy says:

    BIFF. IS. A. CYBORG. AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

  11. Seraphine says:

Biff makes another slashing drive between the defenders…

Seriously though, there are bushes like that. I’ve gotten scrapes and welts walking places I shouldn’t have. And is something got caught in a tree, I threw rocks at it and had to dodge out of the way before the rocks bonked me (gravity is a bitch sometimes).

  12. Tim says:

I second the clay theory. The colour of his skin made me think of clay (or paper-mΓ’chΓ©?) when I first saw it.

Since he’s amphibian, I theorize that he’s the descendant of some exotic organic-clay creature that evolved out of a riverbed πŸ˜€

I love it when things like this pop up, Biff’s physiology is always so much fun πŸ˜›

  13. Mandy says:

Looks like suicide is a no-go for Biff, eh? Not even a drop of blood. Can’t say I’m surprised, though. πŸ˜›

Another great comic, Chris. πŸ™‚ Nice job.

  14. Gobbledegook says:

Another valuable lesson, courtesy of Biff.
I’m mashing everyone’s theories together to go with the amphibious clay cyborg doodle that has no blood and doesn’t feel pain thing.

Has anyone ever fallen into a yucca plant? Those things look like swords sprouting from the ground and the center is full of razor-sharp spines. Once when I was a kid I reached into one to get a frisbee and lost my balance. I managed to slap my right hand into the middle of the bush when I tried to stop myself. I hit bone and couldn’t use my right hand for a month… luckily I’m left-handed, at least.

  15. Bullet Fiend says:

Ha! He looks robotic! Maybe this explains his VCR and ATM compatibily.

  16. Scipo says:

That’s not natural! But, then again, this is Biff we’re talking about. It looks like some sort of prosthetic limb. What bizarre past does Biff have (besides what we’ve already seen) that we don’t know about?!?

  17. Ela says:

    Biff has mechanical arms?!?!

Oh wait. That’s his bones. My bad…

  18. Wannabeelf says:

BIFF’S A HUMANOID ROBOT BENT ON DESTROYING US ALL!! RUN AWAY! RUN AWAY!

  19. Paul says:

you forgot that he is going to destroy all of us with spaghetti

  20. Lucretiel says:

    Ah. Biff’s a robot. explains a lot

  21. Imaginary says:

Razor bushes… Though never seen one quite as extreme, we use to lose balls and all other manner of toys to those vile bushes. Generally the youngest person was made to go get the toy and brave the pain of those sticky leaves, but sometimes if there were only a few people, rock, paper, scissors would be involved.

  22. DEC says:

Is itt possible biff an a-morph like Shlock in the comic Shlock Merecnary, considering he never seemes to manage to bleed or brake bones?

  23. MoonWolf says:

I have a basketball net set up in my backyard. The problem is I live on a hill and my backyard is overlooking a street. Usually when I would shoot a ball and miss, the basket ball would go over my fence and into the street. I lost many basket balls that way. One time I accidently hit a car. Cool thing is the guy who was driving the car I hit didn’t get angry. The un-cool thing was that the guy stole my basket ball afterwards.

  24. Kozo the Kid says:

Is Biff a freakin robot? Somehow he survives decapitation AND this. I mean, is that anything logical or what?

  25. Heinrich says:

Sometimes, reading the comments is almost as fun as reading the comic. This comic is awesome, though.

  26. Micah says:

Yay! Mutilation. I like these the best.

  27. LavaBall says:

There’s no doubt, He is a robot lol
Those bones do have a metallic look into them, They have a gray tint.

  28. Heph says:

His bones are clearly some titanium alloy. He’s Terminator IV, just wait ‘t ill the movie comes out…

  29. Yakboy says:

Biff is, including all theories, an amorphous clay creature (from outer space) with a robotic skeleton and no ability to feel pain.

Or just the result of and artist being dropped on his head as a baby.(just kidding, chris)

  30. SEA says:

Biff’s tolerence of pain must be wayyyyyyyy up there…
    and no blood? interesting…

  31. SEA says:

    Another lol comic =D
and Biff must have a very high tolerence of pain from his expression.

  32. Wannabeelf says:

or maybe he just has an adamantium plated skeleton…

  33. Yurgenst says:

I think Biff is clay. It looks like it to me. πŸ˜›

  34. Micah says:

Maybe he’s like Darth Vader or the Bionic Woman or something…fake limbs and such, but highly advanced.

  35. Onde says:

My friend lou threw a frisbee onto the school roof while playing ultimate frisbee. Lou managed to get to the roof and get the frisbee via a window on the second floor. Unluckily for him, someone decided to close the window.
How did Lou get off the roof?

He fell. Or rather he “dropped” himself, though he doesn’t remember doing so.

  36. Bunnyman says:

I had several baseballs wind up in a gutter… And I lost a shoe trying to get a basketball off the school roof once… I had to walk home sans a shoe… Oh! And I also lost a soccer ball in the thorn bush that was once outside my apartment. When it was cut down, the ball was nowhere to be found. ._o

  37. Toto says:

I made it the whole way through. Took me three hours. I love your comic. Great humour… I have homework to do now. *sigh*

  38. dragonbrad says:

thats not as bad as the time i stuck my hand in the chain sawgrass.

  39. Pat says:

Just like that part in the terminator…

  40. Erkhadz says:

The front yard of the house I grew up in had pampas grass (razor grass) growing around two edges of it, my hands and arms are still scarred from going after baseballs and other lost toys… I feel your pain Biff.

  41. Radical Edward says:

Biff, you were better off buying a new ball…

Once, I lived on a hill that was surrounded by a brambly ravine. If I lost my frisbee, I’d have my dad get it. I’m way too clumsy and my arm would end up like Biff’s

  42. the Scarf says:

I don’t think Biff is clay…but hes not flesh and bone either…the bone May be normal, not metallic, but still. He is very pale.
He has a skelital structure that we’ve seen before. Nobody questioned weather his skull was metal…Perhaps some ultra strong bone?

  43. Elkian says:

    STEEL BOOOOOONES!!!!!

  44. Elkian says:

    He’s Skulpy, of course.

  45. Doc Spooky says:

Biff is a defect Terminator!! thats why he is nearly killing himself and not us! πŸ˜€

  46. Siin says:

Isn’t it obvious? Biff is made of tofu, his facial features are nori (Seaweed) and his bones are made of dried bamboo cut into strips. I want to eat him now. -Licks lips-

  47. Manji says:

    Ohhhh Snap!

  48. jykcor says:

Admantium bones and nanomachines to stop bloodflow to a damaged area while rapidly fixing it. MGS2 and X-Men.

  49. Amake says:

I think this is the first evidence that Biff has bones? Interesting.

  50. Asua says:

I think he’s made of very well taped together paper pieces. His eyebrows and mouth are made of licorice. That’s my theory.

  51. ze bob says:

his arm looks like it was made by Salvidor Dali!

  52. Alice Love says:

I like my albino androids πŸ˜‰

  53. Random McPerson says:

so either Biff is a cyborg or a wax statue. neat.

  54. cheder says:

agh ! biff is a robot!

  55. Mags says:

Nice job showing the bone there.

Now let me say the one thing I’ve been saying for most of these comics…
    “Biff, not again!”

  56. Jess says:

Is this where the razor apples Biff enjoys bobbing for come from?

  57. SurveySays says:

his arm is torn to shreds and his expression just says ‘well….crap. now what?’

  58. Sporkinator says:

    Biff is obviously a cyborg.
